Summary
- Sung Jinwoo adds a flying Shadow, Kaisel, to his lineup to cover large areas quickly.
- Kaisel will aid Sung Jinwoo in battling flying ants in the Jeju Island arc.
- Solo Leveling Season 2 will end with the Jeju Island arc, no need to extend into season 3.
Since acquiring the power to revive fallen foes as Shadows, Sung Jinwoo’s power level has significantly increased. Following the event known as Igris, Sung Jinwoo summoned Iron, Tank, and Tusk. Although this group is formidable, Sung Jinwoo remains eager to enhance his Shadow forces further. This ambition was clearly demonstrated in the recent episode of Solo Leveling.
In the ninth episode of Season 2 of Solo Leveling, Jinwoo harnessed his abilities to transform Baran’s wyvern into a Shadow, which he named Kaisel. To commemorate this new addition to our hero’s team, the official Solo Leveling account on X (previously Twitter) released a fresh visual.
Sung Jinwoo’s Kaisel Will Serve Him Well
Kaisel would significantly strengthen Sung Jinwoo’s forces as he’s the sole Shadow with flight abilities. This enables swift coverage of extensive territories and increases the challenge for opponents to land accurate attacks.
Just as the Korean and Japanese Hunter teams are gearing up to set foot on Jeju Island, ready to take down those ants causing chaos, I couldn’t be more excited about the timely arrival of Kaisel! In Season 2 Episode 8, we learned that these Hunters were planning a joint offensive to prevent the flying ant hordes from razing cities. Given their aerial capabilities, it’s clear that physical assaults alone won’t do the trick – unless our team can find a way to match their altitude!
Thankfully, Sung Jinwoo won’t encounter similar issues since he possesses Kaisel. He can soar through the air on Kaisel and eliminate ants. Moreover, it’s plausible that he might grant other Hunters access to ride Kaisel, enabling them to combat monsters alongside him.
The Jeju Island Arc Will Be The Best Arc Yet

The Jeju Island storyline is generating a lot of excitement as it’s said to surpass all others due to the significantly increased risks involved. Hunter Goto Ryuji is dispatching ten elite S-rank Hunters to Jeju Island, with additional Korean S-rank Hunters joining them. Given the deadly nature of the ants, there’s a good chance that not all S-rank Hunters will return unscathed from this mission.
In the remaining one season, Solo Leveling will conclude its current storyline, with four additional episodes. These episodes will cover a total of seventeen chapters, thereby wrapping up the Jeju Island arc in season 2. There seems to be no justification for A-1 Pictures to extend this arc into a third season when they can finish it within the same season instead.
Solo Leveling is available to stream on Crunchyroll.
