As a huge Super Mario fan, I’m so excited Nintendo finally announced the Switch 2 version of Super Mario Bros. Wonder! It’s called Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park, and it’s coming out on March 26th. Everyone already thinks Wonder is one of the best modern Mario games, and this version will be even better! It’s a Switch 2 exclusive with new stuff like more characters to play as. Plus, they’re releasing three new amiibo figures and a really cool Talking Flower that actually speaks and you can display it!
Released in October 2023, Super Mario Bros. Wonder was a huge hit with both critics and players. It brought fresh ideas with the Wonder Flower, while still feeling like a classic Super Mario game with beautiful graphics and music. Features like Elephant Mario were instantly popular, and the game even won Best Family Game at The Game Awards 2023. Now, as the Nintendo Switch 2 approaches its first anniversary, Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park is preparing to welcome players back with new content and collectibles.
What’s New in Super Mario Bros. Wonder Nintendo Switch 2 Edition?
Super Mario Bros. Wonder is getting even more ways to play together! The game adds new multiplayer courses and options, including two main areas. One area lets up to four players compete or team up locally on a single Switch, or using the GameShare feature, across 17 courses. The other area supports online and local wireless play with up to 12 players on separate systems, offering 6 different competitive attractions. Players can also hone their skills at a new Toad Brigade Training Camp with solo or co-op challenges, and face off against the Koopalings in challenging boss courses to recover stolen items. Plus, Rosalina is joining the playable character roster, and Luma can be Player 2 in co-op mode.
New Super Mario Bros. Wonder Amiibo
Nintendo announced three new amiibo figures – Elephant Mario, Captain Toad & Talking Flower, and Poplin & Prince Florian – which will be available starting March 26th. These figures will work with Super Mario Bros. Wonder to unlock helpful power-ups, and they’re also pretty cute! While the price hasn’t been announced yet, they’ll likely cost about the same as other amiibo figures.
Super Mario Bros. Wonder Talking Flower
To complete the lineup of new products celebrating Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park, the Talking Flower figure from Super Mario Bros. Wonder will be released on March 12th. This collectible figure will randomly share fun phrases, encouraging words, and other sounds throughout the day. You can pre-order it now from the official Nintendo shop for $34.99.
While fans eagerly await news about the next Nintendo Direct, they’ve been pleased to see Nintendo continuing to support its Switch games with enhanced versions like the ‘Nintendo Switch 2 Edition’ releases.
