As a longtime fan and player of Super Mario games since the days of the NES, I can confidently say that this latest crossover event between Super Mario Run and Super Mario Party Jamboree has brought back the nostalgia and excitement that only Nintendo can deliver. The chance to earn themed statues based on my favorite characters in both games is a dream come true!

Nintendo has introduced a special, time-limited collaboration for the mobile game “Super Mario Run“, which incorporates content from “Super Mario Party Jamboree“. Originally developed by Nintendo in 2016, “Super Mario Run” is an endless runner game within the Super Mario series. Though it may not be as well-known as other mainline Super Mario games, it often gets updates, often tied to recently released Nintendo Switch titles.

Over time, Super Mario Run has hosted numerous events that often highlight other Nintendo Switch games, particularly spin-offs featuring the character Mario. For instance, we’ve seen events for games like Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Princess Peach: Showtime, and more recently a collaboration with Super Mario Run itself for the game Mario and Luigi: Brothership. These themed events let players collect items and statues inspired by the characters in these games, as well as an increase in the number of medals earned. The latest collaboration with Super Mario Run offers players a chance to secure new content themed around Super Mario Party Jamboree.

As a movie enthusiast, I recently discovered that the release of “Super Mario Party Jamboree” in mid-October marked a unique occasion for “Super Mario Run.” For the first time ever, this mobile game has been hosting an exclusive event inspired by its Switch counterpart party game. Similar to previous events, this special feature is only accessible for a limited period. By conquering various in-game tasks, players can collect an array of statues. The missions are categorized into Rainbow Galleria Missions, Goomba Lagoon Missions, and King Bowser’s Keep Missions. Successfully completing all three types will grant access to these distinctive statues. The event is active until January 29, 2025.

Rainbow Galleria Missions

  • Complete three missions: 10 Rally Tickets
  • Complete six missions: Mario at the Party Statue
  • Complete nine missions: Peach at the Party Statue

Goomba Lagoon Missions

  • Complete three missions: 10 Rally Tickets
  • Complete six missions: Gold Goomba at the Party Statue
  • Complete nine missions: Bowser at the Party Statue

King Bowser’s Keep Missions

  • Complete three missions: Gold Mario at the Party Statue
  • Complete six missions: Gold Peach at the Party Statue
  • Complete nine missions: Gold Bowser at the Party Statue

In each category, there are nine tasks to be accomplished by players. Only upon finishing all these tasks can they obtain all the statues. These statues portray Mario, Peach, Goomba, and Bowser in their playable character forms from the game, Super Mario Party Jamboree. There exist both colored and golden representations of these statues, with the golden versions of Peach, Mario, and Bowser statues being unlocked through the King Bowser’s Keep Missions.

The reception for “Super Mario Party Jamboree” is significantly more favorable compared to many other titles in the series. Starting with “Mario Party 8”, Nintendo and NDCube’s subsequent entries have been met with mixed reactions. Over time, the scores of each new game tended to decrease. In stark contrast, “Super Mario Party Jamboree” not only boasts a higher average score than its predecessors but also ranks as the highest-rated “Mario Party” game on OpenCritic. Additionally, it was one of the top-selling games in October 2024.
