As a die-hard fan of the Super Monkey Ball series since its inception, I was thrilled to see the release of Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble for Nintendo Switch. The latest update, version 1.11, has only added to my excitement as it fixes some irritating bugs and improves the game’s camera, making the experience even smoother.
The updated version 1.11 for “Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble” on Nintendo Switch has been released, addressing bugs and making other improvements to this new installment of the popular “Super Monkey Ball” franchise from Sega.
Launched on June 25, “Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble” stands out as a tough but entertaining platform game. It boasts strong multiplayer capabilities, allowing up to 16 players to compete online. This exciting title was developed by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, a well-known name in the gaming world due to its popular “Like a Dragon” series. Since its debut, “Banana Rumble” has been updated three times, with the latest update addressing various problems and enhancing user experience through several quality improvements.

In my gaming adventures, I’ve always enjoyed the thrill of Super Monkey Ball titles with their local co-op and solo campaigns. But with Banana Rumble, something truly exciting happened – the Adventure Mode now supports online co-op! This feature was highly demanded by fans, as revealed by game director Daisuke Takahata himself.
In an interview with Game Rant, Suzuki explained that the creation of Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble carries on the positive traits from past games in the series. Yet, he emphasized that this new installment offers a unique spin by incorporating 16-player multiplayer battles, a polished art style, and fresh characters like Easel, Fes, Palette, Tee, and Val, among other enhancements. The game introduced these five new characters to the series for the first time.
Since its launch, Banana Rumble has welcomed several characters from other Sega games as playable DLC: Axel from Crazy Taxi, Beat from Jet Set Radio, and Sonic the Hedgehog himself. These characters are accessible through the Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble Sega Pass, which offers additional cosmetic items as well.

- Removed a bug that would cause a framerate stutter every 6 frames in Adventure Mode. Adjustments to the game’s physics were also made.
- Improved the consistency of how Goal Time is measured in Adventure Mode.
- Fixed a bug that would prevent you from continuing the game when accessing another menu from the Pause Menu.
- Fixed an issue where the camera’s starting position would change after selecting Restart on the Pause Menu in Adventure Mode.
