A player who excels at “Super Smash Bros. Ultimate” has amassed a significant amount of money, approximately half a million dollars, from his victories on the TV game show “Jeopardy.” Over a period exceeding two weeks, this “Super Smash Bros. Ultimate” player made it far in “Jeopardy,” eventually being eliminated by another contestant.
Jeopardy, a popular game show that first aired in 1964, presents contestants with various trivia questions spanning diverse topics to win cash prizes. While gamers often appreciate the game show due to its video game-themed questions, the contestant who won significantly on this occasion demonstrated expertise beyond Super Smash Bros., excelling in other subjects instead.
In a span of 16 days, culminating on July 25, Scott “Biscotto” Riccardi from New Jersey concluded his run on the popular game show Jeopardy. He was eliminated in the final episode of the season by contender and quizmaster Jonathan Hugendubler. Over the course of these 16 games, Riccardi walked away with an impressive $455,000, placing him among the top performers on the Jeopardy Leaderboard of Legends in various categories. As of publication, he was ranked eighth for the highest earnings in a single regular Jeopardy season and tied for tenth place for consecutive game wins. Despite being some distance behind the leaders, Riccardi’s name now shares space with legendary achievers such as James Holzhauer and former competitor and current Jeopardy host Ken Jennings.
Scott Riccardi’s Jeopardy Winnings Surpass Smash Pros
As a dedicated gamer, I’ve dived headfirst into the thrilling world of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, often choosing either Marth or Bayonetta as my characters of choice in various competitions. Yet, it’s not just my Smash wins that have made waves, but my Jeopardy earnings that have truly outshone them. To give you an idea, they’ve surpassed the winnings amassed by some of the biggest names in the game, such as MkLeo and Hungrybox. For instance, MkLeo has pocketed a total of $168,669 from Ultimate tournaments throughout his career, while Hungrybox has earned $453,714 from his victories in Super Smash Bros. Melee.
These figures are undeniably impressive, but they’ve been accumulated over a substantial period for those Smashers. In comparison, I’ve managed to rack up these earnings in a shorter span of time. It’s not just about the numbers; it’s about the journey and the skill that got me here.
Regardless of Riccardi’s future performance in Smash battles, this is an impressive accomplishment worth mentioning, as he has now made it to the Legends Leaderboard. Given that high scorers are often invited to special tournaments and events, there’s a good chance Riccardi might be asked back for a Jeopardy matchdown in the future, potentially leading to even greater victories.
