Mondo is known for making incredibly detailed, high-quality collectible action figures, and they’re especially popular with fans of classic DC and Marvel cartoons. Building on the success of their popular Batman: The Animated Series line, Mondo is now launching a new series of 1/6 scale action figures based on Superman: The Animated Series, starting with a figure of Superman himself.
Mondo will release a limited edition Superman figure in August 2026. Only 1,000 of these 1/6 scale figures will be made. It includes a fully poseable Superman, a Lois Lane figure that fits perfectly in his arms, and the mischievous Mister Mxyzptlk. This collectible lets you recreate iconic moments from Superman: The Animated Series, bringing the world of Metropolis to life with incredible detail.
It’s a Bird, It’s a Plane, It’s a $235 Superman Action Figure!
Mondo’s highly detailed 1/6 scale figures are known for their quality and come with a higher price tag. Their limited edition Superman figure, priced at $250, is already sold out despite being limited to just 1,000 pieces. However, you can sign up to be notified if they restock.
Good news! You can still pre-order Mondo’s Superman figure for $235, which is a lower price than before. This price includes the figure itself, but not the separate Lois Lane or Mister Mxyzptlk figures and their accessories. Otherwise, it’s the same high-quality Superman figure as the limited edition. The figure’s design is inspired by the artwork of Alex Brewer, Danny Haas, Joe Allard, Mara Ancheta, and Mark Bristow, and it captures the look of the classic Superman: The Animated Series and Superman Adventures comics.
As a huge Superman fan, I’m really excited about this collectible! It comes with a ton of cool features – you can change his hand poses, the cape is designed to look like he’s flying, and it even includes a stand and a bendable steel beam for posing. They’ve also included different face sculpts to show him with various expressions, from calm to furious, even firing his heat vision! The Limited Edition comes with an extra smiling face, and it’s bundled with a Lois Lane figure, which is awesome. Just a heads-up for my fellow collectors in the US though – there’s unfortunately a tariff charge being added to orders.
The Last Son of Krypton is the First in a New Line of Superman: The Animated Series Figures
Mondo is releasing a new line of Superman figures based on Superman: The Animated Series. They’ve previously created detailed, 1/6 scale figures from other popular animated shows, including Batman: The Animated Series, Spider-Man: The Animated Series, X-Men: The Animated Series, X-Men ’97, Batman Beyond, ThunderCats, and Masters of the Universe from the He-Man series.
As a big fan of Superman: The Animated Series, I’m really excited about the new figures! If they follow the pattern of past series, we can probably expect to see all the classic characters like Lex Luthor, Brainiac, Darkseid, Bizarro, Jimmy Olsen, and Lois Lane alongside Superman. It’s hard to say exactly how many characters from Superman: TAS Mondo will create, but if the Superman figure is anything to go by, fans like me are in for something special!
