- Potential narrative and familial ties between Superman and Supergirl suggest Alcock’s cameo in Superman is possible.
As a seasoned cinephile with over three decades of movie-watching experience under my belt, I have seen enough superhero films to fill an entire comic book store. I must admit, the possibility of Milly Alcock making her debut as Supergirl in the upcoming Superman movie has piqued my curiosity.
I remember watching the first trailer for Superman and noticing a blurred figure in Kelex’s head that some fans claimed was Supergirl. It’s true that Warner Bros. and DC have been known to plant Easter eggs and cameos in their trailers, so it wouldn’t be surprising if Alcock made a brief appearance as the Man of Steel’s cousin.
I recall seeing Gal Gadot debut as Wonder Woman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Tom Holland’s Spider-Man making his entrance in Captain America: Civil War, so I wouldn’t be surprised if Alcock followed suit. The timing of her casting announcement before Superman entered its final stages of production also adds fuel to the speculation.
However, I have to admit that I was a bit disappointed when I found out that Supergirl won’t appear in the upcoming movie until 2026. I guess I’ll just have to wait patiently for her solo film, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.
On a lighter note, if Supergirl does make an appearance in Superman, I wonder what kind of quip she’ll come up with when they first meet. Maybe something like “Hey cousin, long time no see! You know, I’ve been saving the world one day at a time. How about you?”
I can’t wait to see how this plays out on the big screen and I’m sure fans of both Superman and Supergirl will be eagerly awaiting the release dates for these two exciting movies!
In the forthcoming Superman film, it’s rumored that Milly Alcock might first appear as Supergirl, a claim supported by fans who believe they spotted her likeness in the film’s teaser.
As a long-time fan of comic book adaptations and a devoted viewer of superhero shows, I was thrilled to learn about Emma D’Arcy’s casting as Supergirl in “Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.” Having followed her impressive performance as young Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen in “House of the Dragon,” I am confident that she will bring a fresh and captivating take on the iconic character.
However, the rumors surrounding her potential appearance in David Corenswet’s upcoming “Superman” film have left me feeling a bit anxious. As someone who grew up watching Christopher Reeve portray Superman, I have high expectations for any actor taking on this role. While I am excited about the prospect of seeing Alcock and Corenswet share the screen, I can’t help but hope that the casting choices are made with careful consideration to preserve the essence of these beloved characters.
Ultimately, I believe that Emma D’Arcy is an excellent choice for Supergirl, and I eagerly await the release of both “Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow” and “Superman.” Let’s hope that the films deliver on their potential and live up to the high standards set by their respective source materials.
Fans Think Milly Alcock’s Supergirl Appeared in the Superman Trailer
Two weeks ago, Warner Bros. and DC released the first official trailer for Superman. In one part of the trailer, it appears that Superman is grieving over a metallic robot. This robot is actually Kelex, a Kryptonian maintenance automaton who takes care of the Fortress of Solitude. Before Krypton’s destruction, Kelex served the House of El. Since Kelex is made of metal, viewers saw a reflection of a woman in his head, leading many to believe they were seeing Supergirl. As a result, there was speculation that Alcock might appear in the movie. On X (formerly Twitter), DC Brief asked, “Could this be Supergirl in the Superman trailer?” The post received varying responses, with some people agreeing with the observation and noting the blurred figure on Kelex’s head resembled long blond hair.
While some viewers thought they weren’t seeing Supergirl and instead believed it could be a robot or Krypto the Superdog, others argued differently. Since Krypto has already been confirmed to appear in the Superman movie, the theory that the reflection could belong to Krypto seemed plausible given Superman’s distress call for help from Krypton. The identity of the figure reflected on Kelex’s head remains unclear. A fan even reached out to director James Gunn, hoping to get confirmation about Supergirl appearing in the Superman movie, asking “JamesGunn, is this Super Girl? Can you confirm that?
It’s quite possible that we may see Alcock first appear as Supergirl within the context of Superman, as it’s common practice for superheroes to make a brief appearance in other films before their standalone movies are released. For instance, Gal Gadot made her Wonder Woman debut in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016), and her solo film followed a year later. Similarly, Tom Holland’s Spider-Man debut was in Captain America: Civil War (also 2016), with his first solo movie, Spider-Man: Homecoming, released the following year. If this pattern holds true for Alcock’s Supergirl, she might be introduced by Gunn in Superman, as Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow is scheduled to release a year later.
As a diehard fan, I can’t help but feel excited about the news that Sasha Calle was cast as Supergirl before the final stages of Superman’s production. The timing of this announcement hints at the possibility of her character being part of the film. Given their familial connection, having Supergirl in the Superman movie seems fitting. After all, they are cousins!
Since James Gunn is known for delving into Superman’s relationships with other characters, it wouldn’t be surprising if Supergirl were among them. Most importantly, introducing Supergirl within the context of Superman could pave the way for the upcoming movie “Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.
On July 11, 2025, you’ll find Superman gracing the big screen, and Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow will make her debut a year later on June 26, 2026.
