As a die-hard fan of the Gun Gale Online (GGO) series, I must say that this third episode of Season 2 has left me utterly intrigued and exhilarated! Now, I’ve been following Llenn and Team LPFM since their epic battles in the first season, so it came as a bit of a shock to see them sidelined for a change. But hey, who am I to argue with showrunners who know what they’re doing?

Gun Gale Online” kicked off with a blast, and the first two episodes we’ve watched have been top-notch. The action, comedy, battle royale, strategy – it all blends seamlessly to generate thrilling episodes that keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish.

As a game enthusiast, I’m always on the edge of my seat, wondering if the storytellers can consistently deliver top-notch episodes. Will this series continue to amaze me with one fantastic episode after another throughout the season? Is the third episode going to keep the adrenaline pumping? My answer is an emphatic yes! They’ve got what it takes to keep the quality high.

A Tale of Two Gunners

In episode 3, the narrative primarily revolves around two secondary characters for most part. One of them, Clarence, who made a brief appearance in season 1, was identified as the Chaotic Gunner. The other character is Shirley, known as the Vengeful Sniper.

The Vengeful Sniper Shirley

Shirley is one of the best snipers in the game. Unfortunately for her, she was betrayed, defeated, and humiliated by the one and only Pitohui during the previous Squad Jam Tournament. Since then, she’s been sharpening her skills so that one day she can beat Pitohui. Seeing some random enemies chasing team LPFM like at the beginning of this season is certainly interesting, but to have a character who will stop at nothing until she can put a bullet through Pito’s head definitely makes everything way more intense and exciting.

The Chaotic Gunner Clarence

In this new season, Clarence joins our list of characters and within mere minutes, she’s already captivating audiences as one of the most intriguing figures in GGO. She’s chaotic, impulsive, unpredictable, and fearless to a fault. Right now, it’s uncertain whether she has any specific goals or not, but her enigmatic nature is part of what makes us love her. We can’t wait to see more of Clarence in upcoming episodes!

“A major betrayal. I’ve always wanted to try it once.”

A Bold Decision

First AppearanceGGO S1 Episode 7

It’s not surprising at all that fans and casual viewers alike are eagerly anticipating the actions of Llenn and Team LPFM as they face off against the advancing horde of enemies. However, rather than delving into what happens to Team LPFM, the creators chose to center the narrative around two secondary characters instead.

Ignoring the Main Characters

As a gamer, I must say there’s a certain cool factor in creators who know what we crave and instead dish out something unexpected. And boy, does this episode deliver! We were all geared up to witness Team LPFM tearing it up on their march to the center of the map, but surprise, surprise – they took a back seat in this one. Instead, our focus is shifted onto two secondary characters, and I’ve got to hand it to them, that’s some bold storytelling right there. Respect for stepping outside the box!

Putting the Supporting Characters in the Limelight

There are as many ways to introduce new characters as there are stars in the sky. However, the way GGO introduces Clarence and reintroduces Shirley in this episode will be remembered as one of the best character introductions in anime history. Because they introduce these two, pit them against each other in an epic battle, and then have them rip each other’s throats, all in the same episode. They come, they show a masterclass in intense character dynamics, and then log off. What a sensational way to introduce new characters! Hopefully we’ll get to see more of these two in future episodes.

“I’m really sorry. I missed your heart. I’ll put you out of your misery right now, okay?”

A Good News

Sword Art Online: Gun Gale Online - A Tale of Two Gunners

In the third episode of Gun Gale Online Season 2, as we delved into earlier, Llenn and her team, Team LPFM, were temporarily pushed aside. Furthermore, two fresh characters made an entrance that could be considered among the most remarkable in anime history. Whether you find these events appealing or not, they carry more weight than one might initially assume.

Introducing Variety

In our assessment of episode 2, we’ve highlighted the exceptional actions, humor, strategic warfare, and overall content as truly outstanding. Yet, repetition can make even the best things seem mundane. This episode appears to be a creative response from the showrunners to demonstrate that they can offer diverse plotlines featuring various characters without sacrificing the entertaining and thrilling nature of GGO. In other words, this development is definitely something fans of this series will appreciate.

A More Ambitious Season

The first season of Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online was amazing. Some even argued that this spin-off was better than some of the major story arcs of the main Sword Art Online series. As fans of this series, we don’t mind if Season 2 turns out to be a duplicate of the first season, though it’ll be better if we can see something new for this new season.

Through the addition of diverse elements in this particular episode, the creators demonstrate their readiness to take daring risks with the show. Consequently, Season 2 promises to be a thrilling and ambitious continuation for Gun Gale Online, leaving us eagerly anticipating even more excitement from this electrifying series.
