Today, Nightdive Studios unveiled the PlayStation Store, Xbox Marketplace, and Steam portal for the 25th Anniversary Remaster of System Shock 2. They’ve also hinted at a future date when the official launch will be disclosed.
If you have pre-ordered the System Shock Remake, which was released on Steam, GOG, or the Epic Games Store in 2023, you’re lucky because you’ll receive the remastered sequel (not a remake) for free as part of your purchase!
System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster Multiplayer And Co-Op Confirmed
As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that if you pre-ordered the System Shock remake on PC, you’re in luck! You’ll be among those who receive the remastered sequel at no extra cost. And here’s a shout-out to Wario64, for those who backed the Kickstarter/Backerkit campaign at $30 or above will also get it free of charge. What a fantastic perk for our support!
On their Kickstarter page, Nightdive Studios states: “For those who pledged at the Humanoid Mutant level and higher, you’ll receive a complimentary key for System Shock® 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster upon release. Keep in mind, just as with your digital copy of the System Shock Remake, the key will be sent to the email address provided on Backerkit.
According to a recent tweet from Nightdive Studios, multiplayer and cooperative play are still being developed and will be released alongside other features as they approach the game launch.
According to a press release from Nightdive Studios, they plan to announce the release date for the System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster during the Future Game Show Spring Showcase, scheduled for March 20, 2025.
