Talent in Digimon Story Time Stranger – What It Means & How to Increase It

With over 400 Digimon to discover, collect, and train, Digimon Story: Time Stranger has a huge roster (wow, that’s a lot!). As someone who hasn’t played a Digimon game in a long time (a special shout-out to Digimon World Dusk/Dawn on the DS!), I didn’t realize there were so many different Digimon available.

So, when you look at your Digimon’s stats screen in Time Stranger, you’ll probably see something called Talent. This stat isn’t usually found in RPGs like this, so if you’re as puzzled as I was, here’s a complete guide to understanding Talent in Digimon Story: Time Stranger.

What Does ‘Talent’ Mean in Digimon World: Time Stranger?

Fancy Word for Level Cap

You can find your Digimon’s current level in the top right corner of its profile, displayed over its maximum possible level. Below the Digimon’s picture, you’ll see its Talent level. It’s important to know that these two levels are fundamentally the same. Talent actually represents a Digimon’s level cap and can be raised in several ways.

Some of the Ways to Increase Talent in Digimon World: Time Stranger

In addition to items you can find while exploring, like the Talent Awakening Booster, there are several other ways to raise your Digimon’s Talent level cap. These include winning battles (and avoiding damage!), training at the farm (which becomes available as you progress through the story), hitting Digimon’s weak spots, and defeating enemies completely.

As your Digimon Digivolves, its Talent Level will improve. Importantly, when you De-Digivolve a Digimon, its level will remain the same – it won’t decrease.
