Based on the creators’ statement, “A heartwarming Hobbit feast doesn’t happen quickly, and neither does Tales of the Shire! To provide a consistent, comfortable experience for all Hobbits across every platform, we’re taking some extra time. The game will be released on 29th July 2025.

Furthermore, the message indicates, “We aim to create a game that gives you the cozy comfort of Middle-earth. No matter where you play, you’ll feel as if you’re back in The Shire. From the most authentic hobbit hairstyles to the most delectable fluffy cakes, every aspect will be true to life.

Originally scheduled for release on March 25th, developer Weta Workshop required some additional time before they could finally unveil the game to the public.

If you haven’t encountered Tales of the Shire: A Lord of the Rings Game before, it isn’t a title that involves battling Sauron and his forces; instead, it focuses on simulation aspects such as managing food resources and maintaining your humble hobbit dwelling.

In the game’s description, it says, “Embark on a journey to create your unique Hobbit character in Bywater. Although not officially recognized as part of Hobbiton yet, contribute to the growth and charm of this small town. Welcome warmth at the entrance while personalizing your own Hobbit home, maintaining your garden, fishing in crystal-clear ponds, gathering wild berries and herbs, or trading with locals. Prepare hearty meals to enjoy with other friendly Hobbits and strengthen friendships.
