Much like the delightful “Hello Kitty Island Adventure,” this game represents another iconic IP venturing into the expansive world of life simulation games.
While I appreciate the allure of familiar characters and settings, it’s the gameplay that truly makes or breaks a new title for me. With its release date now set for July, it seems clear that developers at Weta Workshop are cognizant of this fact and are diligently refining the game to ensure an exceptional gaming experience.
To achieve success upon its release, it seems that Tales of the Shire might benefit from adopting the timeless advice, “if you can’t surpass them, align with them.” Essentially, Tales of the Shire should learn from established games within the genre, including those connected to well-known intellectual properties such as Disney Dreamlight Valley and Hello Kitty Island Adventure. Particularly, the developers should focus on one significant aspect that sets Hello Kitty Island Adventure apart from other games in the genre, like those from the giant Animal Crossing series.
Hello Kitty Island Adventures Lets Players Craft Multiple Copies of Items
In the style of many simulation games, Hello Kitty Island Adventure asks players to create certain items in order to boost friendship levels and access exclusive missions. Creating these items can sometimes be one of the most monotonous aspects of gameplay. Since players frequently need multiple copies of an item, they often find themselves repeating the same crafting process again and again. This repetition can transform enjoyable gameplay into a mundane task. It was highlighted that the game’s culinary system necessitates active player involvement, with tasks such as clicking on items to chop vegetables. This contrasts with many simulation games, such as “Disney Dreamlight Valley,” where cooking is largely automated given the right ingredients. However, while Tales of the Shire requires players to have the essential ingredients in their inventory for specific recipes, the hands-on nature of the system introduces an additional layer of engagement. Consequently, a feature that allows simultaneous creation of various items, as seen in “Hello Kitty Island Adventure,” would need adjustments when applied to Tales of the Shire‘s cooking mechanism.
Maybe we could enhance the process by requiring players to press more keys simultaneously when making multiple copies of a single recipe. However, this adjustment should be subtle to avoid becoming monotonous in a relaxing game setting like Tales of the Shire. This unique approach to mass-crafting would differentiate it from Hello Kitty Island Adventure, while still offering the same advantages to players.
