Target seems to have accidentally revealed details about a new LEGO set featuring a Golden Retriever puppy. While LEGO hasn’t officially announced it, rumors suggested the set might be released in February 2026.
LEGO often announces new products well in advance, and because of its complex supply chain, information about them frequently leaks online. While it’s unusual for stores to sell items before their official release date, it does happen. Recently, a Target store in Utah accidentally put a new puppy-themed LEGO set on sale early.
Target Leaks Previously Rumored LEGO Icons Puppy Set
LEGO Group
A LEGO fan named Colorful_nell recently found a new LEGO set at a Target store and shared a photo online on January 16th. The set, called “Golden Retriever Puppy” (set number 11384), is part of the LEGO Icons line – a series of detailed building kits aimed at adults. Details about the set had previously leaked, and the photo confirms those details, including the adult-focused (18+) age recommendation visible on the box.
LEGO Golden Retriever Puppy Set Leaked Details
- Theme: LEGO Icons
- Set: Golden Retriever Puppy
- Set no.: 11384
- Pieces: 2,102
- Price: $139.99
- Release date: February 1, 2026
- Minifigures: 0
- Age Rating: 18+
The only difference between recent photos of the LEGO Golden Retriever Puppy box and earlier information is the number of pieces. Previous reports stated the set (number 11384) would have 2,098 pieces, but the box shows 2,102. The $139.99 price on the box matches a price leaked last November. It’s unknown if Target put the set on shelves too early or if it was a mistake, as the person who found it didn’t try to buy it. Sometimes stores display products before they’re officially available for sale, and their systems prevent customers from completing the purchase.
LEGO Animal Sets Are Surprisingly Scarce Right Now
The LEGO 11384 Golden Retriever Puppy is expected to be available starting February 1st, based on recent information. This new set will add to LEGO’s limited collection of animal-themed builds. Currently, LEGO Icons only offers two animal sets: the 10366 Tropical Aquarium ($479.99) and the 10331 Kingfisher Bird ($49.99). Unfortunately, neither is readily available for immediate purchase. The Aquarium is temporarily out of stock, and the Kingfisher Bird is currently on backorder, with new orders expected to ship around mid-March.
LEGO Group LEGO currently offers several animal-themed sets, including the LEGO Ideas Tuxedo Cat (set 21349, $99.99) and The Fauna Collection – Tiger (set 31217, $64.99), which is a frameless animal art piece with two display options. The 101 Dalmatians Puppy (set 43269, $149.99), released in June 2025, is the most similar set to the recently leaked Golden Retriever Puppy. However, despite costing more, the Dalmatian set has fewer pieces (1,722 versus the Golden Retriever’s 2,102). This higher price is likely because the Dalmatian set is based on Disney’s 101 Dalmatians and LEGO licenses usually cost more.
Although LEGO doesn’t have a huge number of animal sets available right now, the Golden Retriever Puppy (11384) won’t be the first animal set released in 2026. That honor belongs to the LEGO Ideas Love Birds set (21365), which launched on January 1st for $49.99.
