Tarkov ‘Arms Race’ Event Kicks Off a Battle Between Traders

As a dedicated Escape from Tarkov player with countless hours under my belt, I’m thrilled to see Battlestate Games introduce a new event like ‘Arms Race’. The latest in-game conflict between Prapor and Peacekeeper has me on the edge of my seat. The quests associated with this event are intriguing, and I can’t wait to get started.

Battlestate Games has introduced a new event in Escape from Tarkov titled “Arms Race.” In this event, two of the game’s traders, Prapor and Peacekeeper, are at odds with each other. Players begin by completing tasks such as eliminating Scavs in Factory and obtaining their weapons. Mechanic, another trader, informs us that these traders are preparing for a major confrontation. As a clever player, Mechanic encourages you to seize the opportunity and acquire the weapons given by Prapor and Peacekeeper to the AI-controlled Scavs roaming the game.

What’s Tarkov’s Arms Race All About?

As someone who’s spent countless hours immersed in the gritty world of Eft, I can tell you that “Import Control” is no walk in the park. Now, let me break it down for you based on my own experiences.

After finishing that task, you’ll encounter a prompt asking for “Evidence Required.” To finish this mission, find and collect 10 low-durability Scav weapons with a “Western” origin. Here are the calibers you should focus on finding:

  • .300 Blackout
  • .357 Magnum
  • .338 Lapua Magum
  • .45 ACP
  • 4.6x30mm HK
  • 5.7x28mm FN
  • 5.56x45mm NATO
  • 6.8x51mm
  • 7.62x51mm NATO
  • 9x19mm Parabellum

One way to accomplish this effectively is by visiting a map teeming with Scavs, such as Customs. Eliminate any moving targets you encounter. To reach your goal, it’s essential that you carry weapons with low durability, under 10 units.

After that, the mission “Caught Red-Handed” will become available, encouraging you to set up surveillance cameras near Lighthouse for Peacekeeper. He’s investigating suspicious activity regarding his weapon deliveries. Obtain the required cameras from Mechanic located at LL1.

As a gamer, when I’ve obtained my cameras, I need to make my way to the entrances of each water treatment plant building on Lighthouse. It’s essential to place the cameras strategically to keep an eye on the area. But be prepared, you’ll likely encounter other players, Rogues, and possibly even the Goons or Zryachiy as you approach these objective points. The competition for control can get intense!

Currently, we’ve reached a point where we’ve encountered some challenges. However, there are significant rewards waiting for those who overcome these obstacles. These rewards include a large amount of XP that will greatly benefit less experienced players. It appears that a “choose your side” feature is coming up, which will likely involve players battling for either Prapor or Peacekeeper. The winning faction will receive an exclusive reward and a unique achievement that can only be earned once.

BUT

A problem, believed to be a glitch, exists currently where players unintentionally lose reputation with Prapor and Skier upon entering a raid, regardless of whether they are playing as Scavs or not. This issue affects players in both Player versus Environment (PvE) and Player versus Player (PvP) modes, resulting in significant trader level losses for many.

In PvE play, this is a significant concern because the fundamental gameplay involves continuity. Unlike PvP, where players commonly experience resets or wipes, PvE gamers continue uninterrupted. Consequently, any reputation losses they incur will have a more prolonged effect.

We’ll update this as more is learned about this event.
