As a seasoned survivor of the Escape from Tarkov wasteland, I can’t help but feel my heart racing at the sight of yet another intriguing pre-wipe event. The night has always been a time for cautious vigilance, the air thick with anticipation and the echoes of gunfire in the distance. But now, the arrival of these hooded cultists has turned the darkness into a beacon of opportunity.
Battlestate Games has launched another pre-wipe event for Escape from Tarkov, increasing the nighttime appearance rate by 100% for Cultists on their primary maps: Shoreline, Customs, and Woods. The new update also arms many of these Cultists with Marked Keys, a familiar item that unlocks access to some of the game’s most prized locations.
More recently, gamers have been participating in a pre-wipe activity within Escape from Tarkov. This activity involves eliminating 30 foes on the Factory map, a crucial step to acquire Kappa, an extremely popular item in the game.
Kill Cultists, Make Gains
This latest pre-wipe event for Tarkov comes with the following description on social media:
As a devoted follower, I’ve noticed an uptick in losses among PMC factions during night-time operations. Some seasoned veterans attribute this trend to the mysterious visits of what they call “witnesses” to these distinctly marked locations.
Various individuals wearing hoods have been spotted with tagged keys in their possession. Regardless of the heightened risk, Private Military Companies (PMCs) are readying themselves for surprise operations under cover of darkness. Additionally, they’re capitalizing on Mechanic’s generous price cut for Night Vision Goggles (NVGs).
From now on, larger maps excluding Ground Zero and Factory will guarantee a full spawn of Cultists exclusively during the night hours. Moreover, Mechanic has significantly reduced the price of Night Vision Goggles such as the GPNVG-18, currently available for only 43,000 roubles.
Slaying Cultists could potentially yield several types of Marked Keys, items highly sought after for their high-value rewards. However, remember that countless other players are also vying for access to these places.
Just as anticipated, this pre-wipe activity is exclusively designed for Player versus Player (PvP) participants. This is because the game’s Player versus Environment (PvE) mode doesn’t support mandatory wipes, making a pre-wipe event somewhat irrelevant in that context.
As a bonus, you can secure Cultist Knives and trade them with Mechanic for coloured keycards.
