Tarkov’s ‘Mortar Strike’ Event Turns Some Maps Into Deathtraps

As a seasoned gamer with a lifetime of virtual warfare under my belt, I can confidently say that Battlestate Games has once again outdone themselves with the latest Escape from Tarkov update. The transition mechanic boost and the addition of the Mortar Strike event have sent ripples of excitement through the gaming community.

The latest update for Escape from Tarkov, version 0.15.2.0, has arrived, bringing significant enhancements to the game. Battlestate Games has significantly improved the ‘transition’ system, connecting more maps than ever before. Now, every raid in the game can undergo transitions – even Player Scav and PvE runs are eligible for this feature.

The team also added the ‘Mortar Strike’ event, a deadly new limited-time change that will quite literally blow the minds of players on various maps.

Duck and Cover

The Mortar Strike event seems intriguing with its unfolding sequence. According to the information available, locals have discovered caches of mortar shells and launchers, and they’ve been firing these at different maps for fun.

In simpler terms, this implies that locations like Customs, Woods, Shoreline, and Reserve can unexpectedly be targeted by mortar attacks. This threat isn’t just limited to player versus enemy (PvE) battles, but also affects practice modes. This unpredictable event will keep players alert, but it could also cause AI characters to respond realistically when shelling occurs.

In the game Mortar Strike, there’s an exclusive mission tied to the current event. By joining this storyline, players can earn the opportunity to unveil some hidden features or rewards.

  • A special equipment item that warns about the start of mortar fire in advance to help avoid dangerous areas
  • A special consumable item that initiates mortar fire at the player’s position
  • A unique achievement as a reward for finishing the task line, available only during the event

I’m curious to observe how the mortar behaviors will change after the 0.15.2.0 update has gone live.

Don’t worry, we’ll publish our Mortar Strike guide right after the game is back online post-update.
