Teamfight Tactics: Magic n’ Mayhem draws inspiration from various types of magic found in different media sources. According to lead developer Sam Judd, the development team aimed to create unique and unconventional magical elements, such as Sugarcraft and Honeymancy, in addition to incorporating popular League of Legends skinlines that align with their characteristics.

When this trait is engaged, a side portal on the game board intermittently brings in objects from various planes of existence. These objects may hinder or aid players, and their power grows as the Portal units advance in rank.
