The content creator Technoblade, who passed away a few years back, has now amassed an impressive 20 million subscribers on his YouTube channel – a significant achievement that happened posthumously and still resonates deeply within the Minecraft community, as it initially left them in shock and sorrow.
Beyond his online persona, Alex was affectionately called Technoblade by his loved ones. Known anonymously in the digital world for his humorous Minecraft videos on YouTube, he frequently tackled challenges using a pig avatar adorned with a golden crown. His collaborations with notable creators such as Dream, MrBeast, and other Minecraft content producers significantly boosted his rising fame. After Technoblade’s passing in 2022, his father, affectionately known as Technodad, took charge of the YouTube channel, periodically sharing some of the late creator’s most memorable Minecraft moments.
On May 25, 2025, two videos were added to Technoblade’s YouTube channel. These included a compilation of old videos from the creator’s collection and a tribute clip from “A Minecraft Movie”. The purpose was to surpass 20 million subscribers before the creator’s birthday on June 1st. Fans rose to the occasion, as Technoblade’s YouTube channel now boasts over 20.2 million subscribers.
Technoblade’s YouTube Channel Reaches 20 Million Subscriber Goal
Beyond a brief appearance as an Easter egg in “A Minecraft Movie”, developer Mojang honored Technoblade by integrating the famous crown-wearing pig into the launcher of the Minecraft Java edition. Members of the Hypixel Network also erected a statue on their server to memorialize Technoblade, allowing players to leave tributes to this departed creator.
Technoblade’s impact continues through fans who were motivated by him to explore Minecraft. This influence isn’t confined to watching videos on his YouTube channel, but also stretches to philanthropic initiatives. In October 2022, mere months after the Minecraft innovator passed away, the community, including streamers Dream and TommyInnit, managed to collect $500,000 for cancer research in Technoblade’s memory. This generous sum was then donated to the Sarcoma Foundation of America, a non-profit organization that Technoblade had supported to increase awareness about sarcoma and fund its research, ultimately benefiting patients.
