Temple: The Glamrock Warframe Revolutionizing Warframe Gameplay!

In the forthcoming Techrot Encore update for Warframe, we’ll be welcoming a fresh Warframe named Temple, who resembles a glamrock combatant wielding a sentient electric guitar as his weapon. As the most recent recruit to the Warframe roster, Temple will showcase an exceptionally distinctive feature in battle.

In the Techrot Encore update for Warframe, Temple is set to be a prominent addition alongside the Technocyte Coda. Equipped with an infested guitar and rock-and-roll powers, Temple brings a fresh approach to playing Warframe. Once unlocked through the Stage Defense mode in the Encore update, players will uncover a Warframe featuring an unconventional rhythm-based mechanic. Game Rant had the opportunity to chat with Warframe developers, including design director Pablo Alonso, about the unique systems behind Temple.

Warframe Techrot Encore’s Temple Warframe Explained

Temple’s Metronome Passive

Temple’s unique skill, Backbeat, distinguishes them from other Warframes in the game; players can synchronize their attacks and abilities with an on-screen rhythm indicator. By activating the Passive on its beat, the ability receives a significant boost—not only a specific enhancement but also a 50% Ability Efficiency bonus. Alonso explained in detail how this passive operates and how user-friendly it will be for players to take advantage of it.

In essence, aiming to touch an ability at the rhythm of the beat is beneficial, even though it’s not overly challenging. Approximately 40% of the time, you’ll be synchronizing with the beat naturally. If luck is on your side and you manage this timing, your performance will significantly improve. The bonuses are decent, but they can also be adjusted through modifications. If you find it impossible to land on the beat consistently, there are workarounds using mods that prevent the drawbacks from affecting your gameplay. We’d like players to experiment with this feature so that when playing Temple, the experience feels distinct from other Warframes due to the additional mental challenge of matching the rhythm.

Temple’s Main Abilities

In keeping with the tech-oriented atmosphere of the Warframe: 1999 era, the rest of Temple’s equipment aligns perfectly. A glamrock vibe is clearly visible in their weaponry. Their initial skill is Pyrotechnics, which conjures up columns of fire under the feet of nearby adversaries. If timed appropriately with the Backbeat Passive, even more pillars are generated via this ability. In case no enemies are close enough, the flames will materialize as a line originating from Temple.

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but marvel at Temple’s second skill, which beautifully aligns with the 1999-esque Warframe aesthetic and lore. The Overdrive ability calls forth a set of booming speakers to silence foes, making them more vulnerable to critical hits, an effect amplified when synchronized with Backbeat. The Ripper’s Wail complements Temple’s power suite magnificently. This guitar cry not only restores Temple but also grants a brief invincibility, the duration of which is extended when timed perfectly on the beat. Furthermore, this ability infuses allies’ attacks with Heat damage for a limited time, an effect that extends with each subsequent ability timed in rhythm.

In simpler terms, the fourth ability of Exalted Solo is called “Temple’s Call,” which summons Lizzie, Temple’s guitar modified with Techrot faction samples from Warframe. When Temple precisely triggers an ability known as “Backbeat,” Lizzie becomes energized and lets the player direct a barrage of elemental damage. The player can pick from four types of elemental damage while using a flamethrower, also firing off sonic projectiles that inflict the selected type of damage. If timed correctly with Backbeat, the radius and status chance of these projectiles are amplified.
