  • The new patch is largely focused on fixing bugs and technical issues.

Bethesda released the details for the June 2025 update of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered, labeled as version 1.1. This upcoming release is aimed at resolving various quest issues, user interface glitches, and crashes within the game, along with other reported problems.

On April 22, Virtuos unveiled an updated edition of TES 4: Oblivion, which was quietly released without much fanfare. Although this remaster hasn’t seen any significant updates since its launch, Bethesda has confirmed that various improvements are underway, with a primary focus on rectifying bugs and technical glitches as the initial step.

The update for fixing bugs is now accessible to specific PC gamers, as it was released in the Steam Beta on June 5th. This new version updates the RPG to v1.1, incorporating over 50 amendments that tackle problems within the Oblivion Remastered‘s quests, gameplay mechanics, user interface, and other components. Furthermore, it enables a few console commands—ToggleHudVisibility and ShowHud—that were previously unsupported, while also addressing nearly a dozen situations leading to crashes.

In this update, a few specialized issues are tackled, including a bug related to Xbox Cloud Gaming that reflected settings from PC to Xbox, which seemed to affect players who frequently switch between platforms. This release also includes solutions for some persistent loading screen problems, as well as adjustments to resolve certain PC-specific bugs in the Oblivion Remastered, such as the game freezing when you exit it on Windows using Alt+Tab. The new size of the display resolution in windowed mode should now be shown correctly, and the autosave feature will no longer generate new save groups endlessly. Additionally, this patch resolves some progression obstacles in The Battle for Kvatch, A Knife in the Dark, The Sunken One, and several other quests.

To get the update for Oblivion Remastered on Steam, you should switch to the beta channel. Here’s how: Right-click the game in your Steam library, choose Properties, then find the Betas tab in the window that appears. Choose “[beta]” from the dropdown menu and let Steam handle the rest, downloading the latest version of the game automatically for you.

The 1.1 update, scheduled for release next week on June 11, will transition from beta mode to the stable version simultaneously on PC and consoles. Meanwhile, Virtuos is also developing another patch aimed at enhancing performance. Further specifics about this patch’s content and rollout date are expected in the upcoming weeks.
