There’s been chatter suggesting that Bethesda might be gearing up to launch a remake of the beloved game, Oblivion, before the debut of The Elder Scrolls 6. While some enthusiasts might be eagerly awaiting TES 6, a polished reimagining of an iconic Elder Scrolls title would certainly generate excitement as well. Oblivion is often hailed as one of the franchise’s finest entries and a classic in the role-playing game genre, thanks to its captivating narrative and lively open environment. There are valuable lessons that TES 6 could take from this particular precursor, such as incorporating a specific type of setting into its expansive and diverse map.
Ever since whispers about a remake of the epic game, Oblivion, started circulating in 2023, I find myself eagerly awaiting its potential release, either in 2024 or 2025. Though it might not be the sequel we’ve all been hoping for, this revamped version of the game could serve as a delightful interlude before the much-anticipated The Elder Scrolls 6 finally makes its appearance on our screens.
You see, the launch date for the next installment is yet to be confirmed, leaving us fans with a thirst for adventure that needs quenching. Just like Skyrim, Oblivion boasts an expansive world and a wealth of replay value, which means that once we get our hands on this remake, we could be in for months, if not years, of unparalleled gaming pleasure – especially if it comes packed with fresh content and updated versions of the classic DLCs!
Why TES 6 has to Have its Own Version of Oblivion’s Veyond Cave
In the mysterious realm of Oblivion, captivating locales such as the Veyond Cave, nestled in the wilderness north of Bravil city, await discovery. Despite resembling any other cave found in a typical TES game, players will soon realize that its inhabitants are nothing like those encountered elsewhere.
The Veyond Cave Contains Enemies One Can’t Find Anywhere Else
Adventurers venturing into the Veyond Cave will initially meet Mud Crabs and Argonian Tribesmen, and they will run into the latter in three other sections of the cave as well. The Argonians can be found in various classifications within the cave, much like character classes in Oblivion. These classifications include:
This version maintains the original meaning while using simpler language and a more natural flow for easy reading.
- Assassin
- Blademaster
- Monk
- Nightblade
As players delve deeper into the cave, they’ll come across Argonian Shamans and the Argonian Chieftain. Unlike the common tribesmen, these characters are harder to handle due to their access to magic spells and more potent blunt weapons. The network of caves is filled with water and offers some minor treasures. The last area, called the “Great Sump,” is completely submerged underwater. Players who wish to explore it further should have Water Breathing magic or gear at the ready. Notably, these adversaries can only be encountered within the Beyond Cave, making it a unique experience exclusive to this location in the game.
How TES 6 Can Have its Own Improved Version of Oblivion’s Veyond Cave
In the unusual Veyond Cave, you’ll encounter distinctive adversaries, but players might struggle to understand their role. The inhabitants, particularly the Tribesmen, sport clothing reminiscent of traditional attire rather than that seen in urban areas like Cyrodiil’s TES cities. Unlike other dungeons, this one isn’t connected to any quest and lacks scrolls or books offering insights into the lives and customs of the cave-dwelling populace.
In Skyrim, the narratives of various dungeons were refined, such as Movarth’s Lair, a significant setting for the main storyline in the Laid to Rest quest. The plot revolves around the Dragonborn probing into a house fire in Morthal and unveiling the tragic tale behind a child’s demise and a malicious scheme by vampires aiming to enslave the town.
As a gamer, I’ve stumbled upon this cave that houses an intriguing character named Movarth. Yet, it seems the cave’s denizens aren’t entirely unique, as there are common vampire foes that I’ve encountered in various lairs before. Couldn’t The Elder Scrolls 6 blend the quirky characters of this Beyond Cave with the captivating storylines from Skyrim, creating dungeons and areas that are even more engaging and memorable?
