Digital Eclipse has revealed the main artwork for Tetris Forever, skillfully designed by versatile artist and musician Willea Zwey. Her captivating visual representation encapsulates the core themes of both the games and the narrative within Tetris Forever. Zwey’s talent for creating ethereal landscapes filled with surreal elements and rich storytelling makes her a perfect fit for designing this game’s key art.
As a kid, one of the initial video games I played was Tetris, which managed to combine logic and enjoyment in an unforgettable way for me,” Zwey mentioned. “When offered this project, it seemed like a natural fit, especially given my architectural background. My goal is to reinterpret the game by designing a dream-like architectural setting that emphasizes the infinite potential of Tetriminos.
In Zwey’s explanation, he describes the design as reminiscent of an art gallery, with the Tetriminos serving as the main exhibits. He aimed to introduce motion to emphasize their lively qualities. The design transcends conventional limits due to its multi-dimensional perspective, while the dark yet glowing Tetriminos create a new, energetic atmosphere in the game. Including small figures accentuates both the vastness and unpredictability of the game’s boundless possibilities.
On November 12th, Tetris Forever will be available for purchase on Steam, GOG, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series S|X, PS4, and PlayStation 5 for PC users.
