As Arkham Shadow, I find myself stepping into the boots of a younger Batman, squaring off against the cunning Rat King and an array of familiar Gotham City villains. Once more, it’s on me to protect this city that never sleeps. The gritty atmosphere of Blackgate Penitentiary brings me face-to-face with some members of my rogues’ gallery, albeit a bit earlier than usual – from Harley Quinn and Carmine Falcone to Killer Croc, Bane, and many more. The game cleverly uses foreshadowing to hint at future storylines in the Batman saga, such as the emergence of Harvey Dent as a villain and the formation of the dynamic duo: Batman and Robin.

In a good fantasy tale, grandeur isn’t necessarily required; however, ReFantazio skillfully delivers an intricate storyline. This narrative is one of high-stakes politics and leadership exploration, where a diverse assembly of characters from various cultures form unbreakable bonds. The weight of the stakes and repercussions in ReFantazio are consistently felt; the player is consistently reminded of the significance of their mission and the world’s dependence on the results of their actions. Read Game Rant’s Neva Review
“While numerous games rely on storytelling through dialogue, Neva stands out as a nearly wordless narrative masterpiece. This captivating tale about a woman’s strong connection with the wolf she saves unfolds primarily through visual scenes, animations, music, and character interactions. The scarcity of words—primarily just the name ‘Neva’, occasionally uttered by the player as ‘Alba’—allows players to appreciate the depth of their bond, the perils they face together, and how crucial their partnership is in protecting the world from encroaching darkness.
