Despite a lot of challenging news, 2025 has been an amazing year for video games. The competition for Game of the Year is incredibly strong, with titles like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Ghost of Yotei, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, Silksong, Hades 2, and Donkey Kong Bananza all leading the pack. And there’s still more to come, as November promises some of the year’s biggest releases.
Although December offers some interesting games, November is the busiest month of the year for new releases. We’ll see exciting titles from both major and independent developers almost every day, but some November 2025 games are expected to be much bigger hits than others. Here’s a look at the most anticipated titles.
Criteria:
- No ports, remakes, or remasters. New games only.
- The games are loosely listed by their name recognition and how big they are likely to be.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7
The Biggest Game Of November 2025 (Obviously)
As expected, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will likely be the biggest gaming news story in November and is almost guaranteed to be the best-selling game of the month – it’s become a yearly trend. However, the game’s marketing hasn’t been perfect, and the initial reveal received some criticism because it brought back a futuristic style. Battlefield 6 also created some competition and may have drawn players away, though Black Ops 7 is still expected to do well. The beta test was decent, but didn’t particularly stand out.
Okay, so by now, most of us probably already know whether we’re buying BO7 or playing it on Game Pass, right? It’s awesome to hear that Treyarch and Raven are working on it together, and I’m really excited Raven is taking the lead on Zombies! From what I’ve read, the story is going to be a direct follow-up to Black Ops 2 – which feels like ages ago, honestly! – and it’s all set in 2035. I can’t wait to see how it all connects!
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment
November 2025’s Biggest Nintendo Switch 2 Game
When Hyrule Warriors was first announced, a lot of fans were pretty confused, but it turned out to be a really fun spin-off game! And now, Age of Imprisonment feels like exactly what I needed to hold me over until the next big Zelda adventure. If you haven’t played Hyrule Warriors before, it’s basically a crazy action game where you fight tons of enemies all at once – seriously, the number of bad guys you take down is insane! Age of Imprisonment is actually the third game in the series, but don’t worry if you haven’t played the others, you can jump right in. Though, knowing what happened in Tears of the Kingdom will definitely add to the experience.
Based on the trailer and what we know so far, Zelda appears to be the main character in this story, and Link may not be a central part of it. The game is set in the beginning of Hyrule’s history, revolving around a war between Ganondorf and King Rauru and Queen Sonia, with Zelda getting involved through time travel.
I’m a big fan of the Warriors series, and I’m really excited about Age of Imprisonment. However, if you’ve never played a Musou game before, I recommend watching some gameplay videos first before you buy it. These games tend to be hit or miss – people either love them or they don’t.
Anno 117: Pax Romana
November 2025’s Biggest Strategy Game
While Ubisoft often faces criticism, the Anno series consistently delivers excellent city-building experiences. It’s been a reliably enjoyable franchise since the late 1990s, and everything indicates the November 2025 release will be another big success.
In the strategy game Anno 117, players take on the role of a Governor during the Roman Empire, choosing to lead either the Romans or the Celts. Your task is to develop your province, making it thrive and extending its power. Although the core gameplay is similar for both sides, each province – Roman or Celtic – has unique characteristics, advantages, and difficulties, promising a different experience with each new game.
Where Winds Meet
November 2025’s Biggest Free Game
Everstone Studio’s upcoming game, Where Winds Meet, is an open-world RPG set in 10th-century China that looks incredibly high-quality – especially considering it’s free to play. It promises a beautiful mix of historical settings and fantasy elements, with graphics that could be among the best of 2025. The game’s combat is based on Wuxia, a popular style of Chinese martial arts often seen in Chinese animation and comics.
Where Winds Meet focuses on letting players customize their experience and make their own choices, which impacts both how they fight and the story they experience. The developers have made it clear that the game is designed to be enjoyable even when played alone, with the multiplayer features feeling like an addition rather than the main focus. Although it’s technically a massively multiplayer online game (MMO), Where Winds Meet could also be played like a traditional action role-playing game, as long as you have an internet connection.
Kirby Air Riders
November 2025’s Biggest Racing Game
Honestly, at the start of 2025, a new Kirby Air Ride felt like a total surprise! It’s not that the original GameCube game was bad – far from it! – it just seemed like something nobody was really expecting, especially with Mario Kart World already launching on the Switch 2. But that console could definitely use another high-quality racing game, and Kirby Air Riders looks like it’ll be a fantastic, fun option to pull out whenever friends come over. I’m really excited about the multiplayer possibilities!
The game will feature several different modes, including Top Ride, Road Trip, and City Trial, to offer a lot of variety. Top Ride will have a bird’s-eye view, while Road Trip will be a more free-form experience. Compared to the previous game, Kirby Air Riders will have a much larger cast of characters – 20 in total, up from just 3. These characters will be divided into classes, each with unique copy abilities.
Football Manager 26
November 2025’s Biggest Risk
Get ready, because the next Football Manager is going to be a big deal! For twenty years, Sports Interactive’s Football Manager has been the go-to game for anyone who loves managing a soccer team. The newest version is especially important because it’s the first one built using the Unity engine – a change from the engine the game has always used.
The game’s engine definitely needed an update – the old one was looking dated and didn’t deliver great 3D graphics. However, this change has caused some worry about Football Manager 26. Reports suggest the developers, Sports Interactive, have had difficulty working with the new engine, leading them to cancel Football Manager 26, which was originally planned to be built in Unity. The recent beta version didn’t fully address these concerns, so if you’re unsure about buying the game, it’s best to wait for reviews before making a decision.
Football Manager 26 will be available on Game Pass, which is a great way to try it out without a big commitment.
Sonic Rumble
November 2025’s Biggest Multiplayer…Well, It Might Be Big
It’s hard to say how good a new Sonic game will be, because the series’ quality varies a lot. However, Sonic Rumble looks like it could be a fun diversion. It’s essentially Sonic’s take on the battle royale genre, and the game is being promoted as the first multiplayer party game in the Sonic universe.
Sonic Rumble features 32 players battling it out in different stages using recognizable characters from the Sonic universe, all of which can be customized. Game modes include familiar types like a race to the finish and last-player-standing challenges, as well as a mode where players fight for rings. While the game is mostly focused on player-versus-player combat, some modes will also allow for cooperative play. Overall, Sonic Rumble appears to take a lot of inspiration from the game Fall Guys.
Sonic Rumble is free to play.
Solo Leveling: Arise Overdrive
November 2025’s Biggest Anime Game
Originally a hugely popular manhwa, Solo Leveling has become a major anime hit, and now it’s aiming for the same success in gaming. Solo Leveling: Arise Overdrive is an action RPG that retells the story of Sung Jinwoo, but also adds new content to keep longtime fans engaged. Don’t mistake it for Arise – this is a separate game!
This game is primarily a single-player action RPG, offering cooperative play through four-player raids, but it’s not a massively multiplayer online game. If you’re looking for a more direct experience without a lot of repetitive grinding, it might be a better choice than Solo Leveling: Arise. Arise Overdrive appears to capture the exciting action of the original source material, with combat that feels quick and visually impressive.
Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault
November 2025’s Biggest Early Access Game
Digital Sun’s popular indie game, Moonlighter, is getting a sequel! Moonlighter 2 will launch in Early Access on Steam in November 2025. Like the first game, you’ll explore dungeons for treasure and then sell your finds in your shop. However, Moonlighter 2 will be fully 3D, promising better visuals and more detailed dungeons. As the character Will, you’ll need to earn a profit by selling loot and invest in growing the town to unlock better equipment.
Because Moonlighter 2 is launching in early access, it won’t be a finished game right away. The developers at Digital Sun plan to use feedback from players during this time to improve and finalize the game. While early access games can be risky, this project seems to be in good hands.
SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide
November 2025’s Biggest Kids Game
Since Purple Lamp Studios took over development, SpongeBob SquarePants games have been consistently good. Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated was a strong remake, and The Cosmic Shake is often considered the best SpongeBob game yet. Fans are looking forward to seeing how it stacks up against the upcoming SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide, which is scheduled to release in November.
The new game is a 3D platformer where you can play as either SpongeBob or Patrick, switching between them whenever you like. Both characters have special abilities that are essential for getting through each level. The game looks fantastic, similar to the developer’s other titles, and promises fun, engaging gameplay.
