‘The Beast’ Replaces Dying Light 2’s Second DLC

‘The Beast’ Replaces Dying Light 2’s Second DLC

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I’ve seen my fair share of twists and turns in the gaming world. The announcement of Dying Light: The Beast has certainly piqued my interest. After the anticipation surrounding Dying Light 2’s second DLC, this standalone title seems like a curveball, but one that I’m ready to embrace.

Earlier today at Gamescom’s Opening Night Live event, Techland unveiled a fresh addition to the Dying Light series, titled “Dying Light: The Beast.” In this new installment, the original protagonist, Kyle Crane, will be back in the game. This is a standalone title offering around 20 hours of gameplay in a brand-new environment. It offers cooperative play and incorporates vehicle aspects, similar to the first game’s expansion ‘The Following.’

As a dedicated fan, I was thrilled to learn about the upcoming second DLC for Dying Light 2, scheduled for release in February 2022. But, to my surprise, a press release unveiled that The Beast will be taking its place instead.

Bigger and Better

Per the press release issued by Techland:

Initially conceived as a Story DLC (Downloadable Content) for the game Dying Light 2: Stay Human, the project known as Dying Light: The Beast underwent two years of development. As its dimensions and ambitions expanded significantly, it morphed into a separate, self-contained adventure all on its own.

As a fellow gaming enthusiast, I’m excited to share some news about Dying Light 2! If you’re one of the lucky ones who own the Ultimate Edition, Techland has got you covered – they’re giving The Beast expansion absolutely free! But for everyone else, it’ll be a separate purchase. Keep that in mind as you plan your gaming adventures ahead!

The release date for Dying Light: The Beast hasn’t been disclosed yet, but the short story trailer shared today by Techland hints at an exciting addition to wait for. Unlike a regular game in the series, it’s more of an attractive expansion that reintroduces a beloved character from the fan base.

In Dying Light: The Beast, players can utilize Kyle Crane’s past infection, harnessing the abilities derived from being undead for their benefit. Unlike familiar settings, this game is set in a more rural area, but with its compact design, there are urban pockets to discover. As always, parkour moves remain a key feature.
