However, when it comes to Electric-type Pokemon, the top choice is already obvious: Jolteon.

Pokemon Legends: Z-A definitely keeps a lot of what we love about the main series, but it’s changing things up, especially when it comes to battles. PLZA’s Electric Pokemon With Mega Evolutions Explained
Several of these Pokemon either already have or are planned to receive Mega Evolutions. Mega Ampharos and Mega Manectric were introduced in Generation 6, while Mega Raichu appears in the DLC for Pokemon Legends: Z-A, with two different forms. Leaks also suggest that Mega Eelektross will be included in PLZA. Since Mega Evolutions boost a Pokemon’s stats by 100, all of these will be statistically stronger than Jolteon when they Mega Evolve, but there’s a catch.
Why Jolteon is The Best Electric-Type in Pokemon Legends: Z-A
Jolteon could become the top Electric-type in Pokemon Legends: Z-A because it’s the fastest and also fairly durable. This combination means its moves recharge quickly and it can dodge attacks often. Speed is crucial in PLZA, and Jolteon’s natural high speed allows it to use its strongest moves repeatedly without needing weaker filler moves. It also dodges enemy attacks more frequently, increasing its chances of surviving each battle compared to slower Pokemon.

Therefore, only Mega Manectric is faster than Jolteon. However, its regular form is considerably slower and has less defense, and while you can use Mega Evolutions repeatedly in PLZA, you can’t keep Mega Manectric active constantly. Heliolisk and Raichu are decent options, but Jolteon remains the better choice when considering everything.
Jolteon boasts the second-highest Special Attack and the greatest Speed, making it a potentially amazing attacker. What’s even better is that it won’t need to compete with others based on Abilities, since Pokemon Legends: Z-A is removing Abilities from the game entirely. However, with rumors suggesting that no Eeveelutions will receive Mega Evolutions, some players might find other Pokemon to be better choices than Jolteon for that reason alone.
