The Empowered Hero Powers transform through class-specific triggers and offer improved effects, with certain classes gaining immediate advantage or pressure on the game board, while others receive potential for long-term scaling or burst damage.
As a gamer, I find that each Hero Power brings its unique flair to the game, and the way it plays can change drastically based on whether I’m in Standard, Arena, or Wild mode. It seems that archetypes that consistently trigger Imbue effects often come out on top, particularly those linked to explosive combos or sustainable value engines. On the other hand, classes with poor synergy or lackluster upgrades tend to lag behind. But don’t underestimate the potential of a skilled player – even at the highest levels, they can make something work with them.

Inconsistent Even After The Buffs

- Effect: Choose a playable Priest minion or spell to add to your hand. It costs (1) less, but is Temporary.
The “Enchanted Ability of the Clergyman” grants a random Priest card that becomes playable when the specified condition is fulfilled. However, despite the buffs making these cards playable, their inconsistency often renders them less effective and they frequently struggle to find synergy with current popular decks.
Although control often finds it challenging to effectively utilize the spells due to their inconsistency, even with some acceptable scaling, the impact on game results is usually minimal. Compared to other classes that offer permanent board or damage effects, its power seems relatively insignificant. Experimentally, spell-heavy or Menagerie decks show promise, but the lack of regular rewards makes it the least potent Imbued Hero Power in competitive play.
5. Blessing Of The Wolf – Hunter
Situational, But Still Has High Potential

- Effect: Give a random Beast in your hand +1 Attack. It costs (1) less.
The Hunter’s Empowered Ability suits the aggressive playstyle of a Hunter very well, as it provides hand enhancements that accumulate gradually and can be utilized in one turn for a reasonable attack. It performs optimally with tempo Beast decks, and although cards like King Plush can provide enormous value, they still demand precise timing.
This power struggles to deliver a strong initial impact, maintain a clear advantage, or sustain its effectiveness, often leaving it unimpressive against strong or expansive opponents. While it holds its ground in slower game environments or benefits from an early lead, it tends to falter when faced with disruptive or control-based strategies.
4. Blessing Of The Wind – Shaman
High-Roll Possibilities That Almost Always Land

- Effect: Transform a friendly minion into a random one that costs (1) more.
Transformed Minion Empowerment (Shaman’s Enhanced Ability) adheres to a traditional Shaman theme, where minions are given powerful enhancements. Unlike typical transformations, this ability grants significantly stronger buffs. It can create substantial turn swings with cards such as Muck Pools or by utilizing tokens from Schooling, but it requires strategic drawing and timing of synergy cards to deliver significant impacts.
The character’s key feature is its high volatility, which allows for strong evolve sequences that can lead to victories. However, if rolls aren’t well-timed or the character isn’t properly built, it can leave boards exposed. This character performs optimally in decks focused on swarm strategies, deathrattle effects, and transformation synergies. On the other hand, it struggles in faster game metas where setup turns are heavily penalized.

Burst Damage And Constant Payoffs

- Effect: Summon 1 Wisp. Deal 1 damage randomly split among all enemies.
The magical ability of an Empowered Champion (changed from “Mage’s Imbued Hero Power”) inflicts sporadic harm on adversaries and summons a vast number of Spirits (changed from “Wisps”). With each use, the magnitude of the damage increases (changed from “power’s damage scaling from each activation”). In the Wild format, when combined with Reckless Apprentice and Wildfire, it can result in a decisive victory by allowing multiple activations within one turn, leading to an overpowering burst of damage.
This card works optimally with tempo and burn themes, providing versatile gameplay strategies that favor board control and spell synchronization. In the Standard format, it facilitates mid-game shifts in advantage and lethal turns, while its compatibility with low-cost spells positions it as a high-potential card that penalizes opponents who are not properly prepared.
2. Blessing Of The Golem – Druid
Persistent Scaling And Insane Synergy

- Effect: Summon a 1/1 Plant Golem.
The Hero Power of the Druid, Infused with Magic, evokes a nostalgic tactic from Gadgetzan, featuring Jade Golems. However, these summons appear much more lively this time around. The ability operates in a comparable manner and harmonizes flawlessly with spell-focused decks, particularly cards such as Hamuul Runetotem, who activates the Infusion at game start and subsequently following every two spells.
As a gamer, I find myself in a position where this game piece steadily expands its influence on the board without active intervention. It can function as the decisive victory point or serve as a tactical delay for the climactic moment. The strength of this element lies in its compatibility with both aggressive and defensive playstyles, making it adaptable and challenging to outmaneuver. It doesn’t necessitate specific combinations but rather rewards organic gameplay development, giving it an impressive edge at every stage of the game.

Absurd Board Development With Aggressive Decks

- Effect: Shuffle two Emerald Portals into your deck (Your Portals summon 1-Cost Dragons).
The Paladin’s Empowered Hero Ability may not seem overly powerful initially, but when utilized in an aggressive deck along with effective draw mechanics, it rapidly transforms into a relentless surge of colossal dragons and formidable summonings that are hard to counter. Although the impact might be delayed, cards such as Aegis of Light can trigger the effect as early as turn two, initiating the shuffling process, enabling the rest of the deck to dominate the game.
The unpredictability of Dragons introduces variety, but their minion types possess a substantial number of potent cards beneficial for both early and late stages of the game. For instance, Astral Serpent shines in the initial phase, while Briarspawn Drake can drastically alter even the most complex scenarios during the later stages. In essence, it serves as an early-game accelerator and a dominating force in the late-game. Few decks can match up when its power kicks in.
