Around the holidays, many LEGO enthusiasts love building winter villages to get into the festive spirit. While LEGO offers official village sets, some of the most impressive creations come from fans. These builders often combine multiple sets or design their own buildings and landscapes using their existing LEGO collection. These fan-made creations are known as “MOCs” (My Own Creation), and builders frequently share their work online.
There are many amazing LEGO winter village creations made by fans, but a few really stand out. These builds demonstrate the incredible skill and creativity of their designers, and they’re a special way to celebrate the holidays.
Christmas Village by NolphiPlays and Their Family
A builder named NolphiPlays recently shared an amazing LEGO winter village creation online. They posted about it on Reddit and even made an 8-minute YouTube video showcasing all the details. Built in 2022, the village uses thousands of LEGO pieces and hundreds of lights to create a magical and detailed scene. It features fantasy-inspired locations like a Mages Guild, a chapel, a tavern, a castle, and even a dungeon! Little LEGO families are shown enjoying the holidays, a train travels through the town, and adorable bunnies and hamsters play in the snowy hills, making it a truly immersive display.
NolphiPlays created this impressive LEGO winter village with the help of their family over a period of more than three years. What makes it even more special is that it’s a completely original design – they didn’t use any pre-made LEGO sets. To bring the village to life, they also incorporated lights from Brickstuff, including special effects and a way to power the train.
A Bustling Winter Town by groov99’s 66-Year-Old Mother
A Reddit user named groov99 shared a stunning LEGO winter village built by their 66-year-old mother. Groov99 mentioned she’s protective of it – and for good reason, as the details are meticulously arranged. This village is remarkably detailed and lively, with many miniature figures interacting with each other. What truly brings it to life, though, are the numerous little scenes of activity happening throughout the town.
Groov99’s LEGO winter village is full of delightful details! You can spot skiers and snowboarders enjoying a snowy hill, and even the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles grabbing a slice of pizza. The village features both a large and a smaller Christmas tree, each surrounded by villagers chatting or waiting to see Santa. Elsewhere, people are shoveling snow, watching a parade, or taking their dogs to the park. In the distance, Santa and his reindeer are getting ready for their Christmas Eve flight from a hilltop.
A Winter Village Scavenger Hunt by the_way_around
A recent LEGO winter village creation comes from builder the_way_around, who shared it on Reddit. Like a vibrant LEGO town, it feels full of life, with smoke puffing from chimneys and people enjoying winter activities. The detailed model, inspired by the late 1800s or early 1900s, includes charming details like a vintage vehicle on a cobblestone street, buildings in the Tudor or Victorian style, a horse-drawn wagon, and a classic wooden streetcar.
What really makes this LEGO winter village special is the scavenger hunt built into it. The creator shared a picture on Reddit showing the village set up at what looks like a fair or convention, where people can search for hidden items. The hunt includes fun things like a Blue Space Baby, Scooby-Doo, a Golden Idol, a Baby Velociraptor, and a Golden Snitch. This makes it more than just a pretty display – it’s an engaging experience that sets it apart from other LEGO winter village creations.
A Winter City That Never Sleeps by Venti014
A recent LEGO winter village creation comes from Reddit user Venti014. What makes this build special is how it looks in the dark – the lighting really makes it shine. The streets look wet from rain, complete with crosswalks and speed bumps, and light spills out from the brightly lit shops. You can even see inside the buildings through the large windows. The town extends upwards with multiple levels, and at the very top, you’ll find Santa and his sleigh next to a hot air balloon.
Venti014’s winter village is remarkably realistic and feels truly vibrant. The train tracks wind around the city and even disappear into a tunnel lit with warm, reddish-orange light. What really sets it apart is the attention to detail – the streets look freshly rained on, and there are LEGO figures acting out everyday life, like shoppers interacting with vendors. A Christmas tree at the heart of the town adds a festive touch, and the figures seem to be enjoying the lively nightlife.
Christmas Eve in the Town Square by shoretee
A charming LEGO winter village creation, or MOC, comes from Reddit user shoretee. It really captures the feeling of a cozy village, more so than the other builds we’ve seen. What makes it special is the realistic snow – shoretee used a white carpet material alongside LEGO bricks to create a glistening effect. A tall Christmas tree stands in the center, surrounded by villagers enjoying the holidays.
Similar to Venti014’s build, shoretee’s village looks best when it’s dark, thanks to clever lighting. Instead of just using lamps and lanterns, the creator has placed lights in the snow, creating a magical, festive atmosphere. A funny detail is the Oh-Kay Plumbing van from the movie Home Alone – the one used by the burglars, Harry and Marv! It’s parked right in front of a replica of the Home Alone house, complete with a Santa hat on top. And if you look around, you can even spot Santa himself climbing down his sleigh and into the chimney of a gingerbread house, adding a whimsical touch to the whole display.
