7. Final Fantasy 16

The Bombastic Boss Fights Are A Cinematic Spectacle

Final Fantasy 16 took a new direction with fast-paced, action-focused combat. To help achieve this, the game brought in the combat director from Devil May Cry. The result is a game filled with spectacular battles and a combat system that really expands when you unlock powerful Eikon abilities.

Once Clive unlocks more Eikon powers, defeating enemies will become much easier. While the gameplay can sometimes rely heavily on using these abilities, the epic boss fights and visually stunning combat will especially appeal to players who enjoy games like God of War.

If you enjoy battling massive enemies like in God of War, you’ll likely love Monster Hunter Rise. This allows you to craft even better equipment, a gameplay loop also found in the God of War series.

Like Monster Hunter Rise, Monster Hunter Wilds is a solid game, and its larger, more open areas feel similar to those in God of War Ragnarok. However, Wilds has proven to be more controversial among players than Rise.

What I really loved is that it encourages you to switch up your weapons constantly instead of sticking with just one throughout the whole game.

Although visually appealing, Asterigos is a typical AA game, meaning its graphics aren’t as polished as a blockbuster title like God of War. However, it boasts a distinctive art style and well-designed characters, and the combat flows smoothly. Asterigos has its own unique feel, but shares similarities with God of War through its storytelling, which draws from Greek mythology, and its exciting, over-the-top battles.

4. Evil West

A Game Clearly Influenced By 2018 God Of War That Is Just A Lot Of Fun
