Blue Box Season 2 Will Return In Fall 2026
The official report states that Blue Box Season 2 is currently planned for release in Fall 2026. While a specific date hasn’t been announced, anime released in the fall typically begin airing in October, so that’s a likely premiere month. When the new season arrives, it will probably adapt the following story arcs:
- Yumeka’s Return Arc
- Confession Arc
- Relationship Beginnings Arc
The anime might cover more or fewer story arcs depending on how many episodes are in each season. Season one had 25 episodes and adapted about 80 chapters of the source material. If season two is also 25 episodes long, it could potentially include the arcs focusing on the start of the second year, the second round of the prefectural qualifiers, the second year’s fireworks festival, the second year’s national competition, and a summer beach trip.
Many viewers are hoping the second season of Blue Box will have over 20 episodes. However, the number of episodes will likely depend on the animation studios involved. The first season was well-made thanks to the collaboration between Telecom Animation Film and TMS Entertainment, and both studios are expected to return for Season 2. But given their existing workloads, a season with around 12 to 14 episodes seems more realistic.
