Summary
- Upgrade skills strategically to enhance offensive and defensive capabilities.
- Choose the right combination of weapons, Jades, and Spell Styles for tough enemies.
- Different Spell Styles like Water Flow offer unique benefits to tactical combat.
As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of experience under my belt, I must admit that the variety of Spell Styles in “Nine Sols” has truly piqued my interest. Each one offers unique benefits and strategies, catering to different playstyles and situations.
In the game named “Nine Sols“, players embark on a difficult voyage with the character Yi, who encounters combat reminiscent of “Sekiro“. The fights are intense, and it’s best to avoid death since any accumulated Jin and Experience points that Yi has earned will be lost at the place where he perishes. Players must strategize thoughtfully about which skills they should prioritize upgrading initially to strengthen both their offensive and defensive approaches. Mastering the appropriate mix of weapons, Jades, and a selected “Spell Style ” is essential for defeating the game’s most formidable opponents.
As I delve deeper into this captivating tale, I’m discovering the intricacies of wielding the formidable Talisman. This potent artifact can be bonded with adversaries and, when timed right, can be triggered using Qi Charges, dealing a range of damage. What sets the Talisman apart is that its detonation transforms an enemy’s Internal Damage into Direct Damage under the right circumstances. Mastering the correct Spell Style for each situation is crucial for maximizing destruction. The three distinct Spell Styles each bring something unique to the table, but some are undeniably more potent than others.
3. Qi Blast
The Default Spell Style
- Unlocked automatically
- Uses 1-3 Qi Charges
- Upgrades to Enhanced Qi Blast for 3 skill points
Initially, when the Talisman is presented, the Qi Blast Spell Technique becomes accessible. Although it’s the standard choice, its power varies based on the number of Qi Energy Reservoirs (Qi Charges) a player has activated. At the start, Yi possesses one such reservoir. Additional reservoirs are obtained by allocating skill points within the Skill Network. When players opt for the Talisman’s detonation method to be the Qi Blast Spell Style, it consumes between one and three energy reservoirs, depending on what Yi currently holds. Having more reservoirs results in increased damage output.
You can enhance the potency of your Qi Blast by investing a skill point to acquire the Qi Boost ability. This talent increases your Qi Charge capacity by one, making all your Spell Styles more potent. Once you’ve acquired either Qi Boost or Incisive Drain, you can upgrade Qi Blast to Enhanced Qi Blast. This upgraded version of the Spell Style gives players an Azure Sand after each successful three-charge detonation, and it requires three skill points for the upgrade.
2. Water Flow
Set It And Forget It
- Upgrades to Enhanced Water Flow
- Detonates the Talisman automatically after a delay
- Always consumes two Qi Charges until upgraded
With the acquisition of either Swift Runner or Life Recovery, you can gain access to Water Flow for 2 skill points. This Spell Style simplifies gameplay by automatically detonating Talismans without requiring players to manually press the button for attachment and detonation. Instead, Water Flow initiates an automatic detonation. This feature is advantageous as it minimizes the risk of character Yi being attacked during Talisman use. However, keep in mind that each time you use a Talisman with Water Flow equipped, it will deplete 2 Qi Charges.
If you appreciate this Spell Style but dislike the Qi Charge usage, it’s crucial to unlock the upgraded version. The advanced Water Flow retains all its auto-activation advantages, yet requires only a single Qi Charge. Water Flow performs exceptionally well against swift-moving enemies and is an excellent pick when you opt for Jades that employ Qi for sword attacks. You’re likely to discover this Spell Style extremely effective during your adventures.
1. Full Control
The Potential For Massive Damage
- Players determine the duration of Talisman detonation
- Can initiate up to a 5-Qi Charge detonation
- Upgrades to Enhanced Full Control for massive damage potential
Players can gain access to the advanced control mode once they’ve already unlocked either Qi Boost or Life Recovery. This ability costs two skill points for activation. The usage of this Spell Style necessitates active participation from players, as they decide the timing and intensity of the Talisman’s explosion. The longer the button is held, the longer and more potent the explosion becomes. It can deplete up to five Qi Charges, inflicting massive damage on enemies when fully charged.
For players who really want to make an impact with this Spell Style, upgrading it to Enhanced Full Control should be made a priority. When this Spell Style is upgraded, releasing a 5-Qi detonation will result in an extra 56 points of damage. Enhanced Full Control requires three skill points to unlock. Players will often find this Spell Style essential for defeating some of the more challenging bosses in Nine Sols, as it can also cause stagger these formidable foes. It enables players to capitalize on Internal Damage quickly and has the potential to deliver high burst damage, making it the most powerful Spell Style in the game.
