Key Takeaways
- Fans have created numerous mods for
Batman: Arkham Knight
, adding new suits and characters from comics, movies, and games. - Modders have recreated iconic Batman suits, like Beware the Batman, Val Kilmer’s Sonar Suit, and classic Red Hood, filling gaps in the game’s offerings.
- Modders have also added new characters in the form of skins, such as Cassandra Cain and Owlman.
In my humble opinion as a connoisseur of video games and Batman lore, these modders have truly outdone themselves. The sheer amount of detail and dedication put into each one of these mods is astounding. It’s like they’ve taken the essence of each game and distilled it down to its purest form, then infused that essence into Batman: Arkham Knight.
Modding keeps games like Batman: Arkham Knight thriving and current, and this game is no exception. Thanks to the tireless work of numerous fans, Batman: Arkham Knight has been enhanced with a variety of mods. These modifications enable players to explore Gotham City in innovative ways, either by introducing fresh mechanics or even offering new costumes for the Dark Knight.
In the game Batman: Arkham Knight, there were numerous costume choices available initially, yet some enthusiasts still craved for additional options. With mods, an abundance of new costumes can be incorporated into the game with just a few mouse clicks, some mirroring famous appearances from comics, films, and other video games.
15 Batman – Beware The Batman Animated Series
The Forgotten Animated Series That Deserves More Love
- Mod Created By: YanDaniel04
- Mod Link
- Based On: Anthony Ruivivar’s Batman in the Beware The Batman animated series
In the game “Batman: Arkham City,” fans were delighted by a suit inspired by “Batman: The Animated Series.” This 3D model maintained the visual aesthetic of the series. However, in “Batman: Arkham Knight,” this wasn’t repeated. But, the dedicated fans compensated for it by creating various Batman skins based on nearly every animated version of the character. Even the less recognized and underappreciated “Beware The Batman” was included in these mods.
The mod comes from YanDaniel on NexusMods, imitating the 3D animated visuals of Beware The Batman with The Dark Knight’s suit having the glossy rubber-like texture enhanced by the already beautiful visuals of Arkham Knight. Fans of Beware The Batman can use the suit to play out the fantasy of the lost second season that they never received.
14 JoeMama’s Batman Forever Sonar Suit
The Prototype Batsuit That Turned Val Kilmer Into An Iconic Batman
- Mod Created By: JoeMama
- Mod Link
- Based On: Val Kilmer’s Sonar Suit from Batman Forever
Rocksteady developers took on the task of incorporating Batman suits from different live-action eras, including those worn by Adam West, Michael Keaton, Christian Bale, Ben Affleck, and Robert Pattinson, but not Val Kilmer. However, it’s worth noting that Batman Forever , where Val Kilmer played Batman, remains an essential part of Batman’s big-screen history. Therefore, we owe a debt of gratitude to modder JoeMama for successfully introducing the Sonar Suit worn by Val Kilmer in the climax into Batman: Arkham Knight.
Apart from faithfully reproducing the metallic gray suit adorned with the large emblem, JoeMama also incorporated the intricate detail of altering Batman’s face to resemble Val Kilmer more closely. The Sonar Suit from “Batman Forever” is compatible with “Arkham Knight” as it was among the first movie suits to adopt a high-tech armored design, a style that would later become commonplace in films like “Batman Begins”.
13 Red Hood Zero Year
Sometimes There Is No Beating The Classics
- Mod Created By: menkimedi & LonelyOMEGA
- Mod Link
- Based On: Red Hood as he was depicted in the Batman: Under The Red Hood graphic novel
Although Red Hood is adored by many and has numerous design options, he was only provided with a single alternate costume. Fans of the character, however, were given an additional style they felt should have been included right away with the release of Red Hood’s DLC. Menkimedi teamed up with LonelyOMEGA to create the “Red Hood Zero Year mod,” which offers fans a long-desired look for the character.
The “Zero Year Red Hood” is often associated with Jason Todd’s initial appearance as the Red Hood in “Batman: Under the Red Hood.” This image, including the brown leather biker jacket modified to fit the character and the striking white eyes, is commonly what comes to mind for fans when they think of the Red Hood. Some even prefer it over the original “Arkhamverse” design of the character.
12 Catwoman Injustice Regime
The Cat Who Could Take On Metahuman Foes
- Mod Created By: NaturalGuy
- Mod Link
- Based On: Catwoman’s Regime costume in Injustice: Gods Among Us
In contrast to how she’s been portrayed in terms of outfits, Catwoman hasn’t always fared well. However, her character in the Injustice series has had multiple options available for both games. Specifically, the Regime version of Catwoman from Injustice: Gods Among Us sticks close to her roots with a focus on purple, but also incorporates a more armored style to give her a modern edge.
Thanks to NaturalGuy on NexusMods, it is now possible to play Regime Catwoman in Batman: Arkham Knight. This character modification includes her hook-like claws and a revised appearance model that resembles the remastered version of her design from Injustice: Gods Among Us. It’s particularly fitting because Grey Griffin voices Selina in both the Arkhamverse and Injustice franchises.
11 Batman Rebirth Styled V8
A Better Reward For Playing Through The Game Twice
- Mod Created By: KableDK & MrBinkss
- Mod Link
- Based On: Red Hood as he was depicted in the Batman: Under The Red Hood graphic novel
Even though many adore the game “Batman: Arkham Knight“, most players might think twice about grinding for the Prestige suit, which involves playing through the game not once, but twice, including New Game Plus mode, just to get a 240% version that’s largely similar to the base suit, with its symbol being yellow as the main change. Instead, for those looking to avoid this process, the “Batman Rebirth Styled V8 mod” could be a more appealing choice.
This modification primarily alters the suit’s color palette, introducing bolder shades of gray and vivid gold hues throughout. Given its connection to the DC Rebirth comics, the emblem has been enhanced with intricate golden trim that goes beyond just a fresh coat of paint, adding depth to the symbol. As an added touch, Batman now sports white eyes reminiscent of comic book illustrations.
10 Batman: The Long Halloween
Perfect For A Halloween-Set Batman Game
- Mod Created By: MStill
- Mod Link
- Based On: Batman in Batman: The Long Halloween graphic novel
Among the abandoned DLC costumes, the one inspired by “Batman: The Long Halloween” might have been one of the most regrettable choices to be scrapped. Given that “Batman: Arkham Knight” is set on Halloween night, the Long Halloween suit would have fit perfectly as a downloadable content, but unfortunately, it was not meant to be, as it was canceled along with other potential costumes.
As a devoted fan, I’ve been eagerly anticipating the mod by MStill that brings the style of “The Long Halloween” Batman into our favorite game. This mod strives to capture the authentic comic book look while incorporating the intricate details of the Arkhamverse, similar to the Batman Incorporated and New 52 skins. It features elongated ears, a streamlined symbol, and an exciting option to choose between white or regular eyes to cater to player preferences, perfectly embodying the comic book aesthetic.
9 Arkham Origins Robin
Missing Robin Design Resurrected By Fans
- Mod Created By: unwiredx
- Mod Link
- Based On: Dick Grayson’s Robin from Batman: Arkham Origins
In the game “Batman: Arkham Origins”, this particular skin was first introduced, however, it was exclusively used in the multiplayer mode, which though entertaining, has since ceased operations. This means that this is the only instance where fans have seen what Dick Grayson’s appearance as Robin was like within the “Arkhamverse”. Except for a mod created by the designer unwiredx, which enables Tim Drake to take on the role of Dick Grayson in “Batman: Arkham Knight”, this is still the only depiction of Dick Grayson as Robin in the “Arkhamverse” so far.
The modification was crafted based on the suit from “Arkham Origins,” yet it was adjusted to align with Dick Grayson’s character design in “Arkham Knight.” Such intricacies greatly resonate with fans of the “Arkhamverse” and underscore the remarkable devotion some modders have for a game that is nearly a decade old.
8 Harley Quinn Arkham Skin Pack
Allows Fans To Relive The Evolution Of Harley
- Mod Created By: BRONXBX
- Mod Link
- Based On: Harley Quinn’s various looks in the Arkhamverse, from Batman: Arkham Asylum to Batman: Arkham Origins
Rather than just one, the Harley Quinn Arkham Skin Pack by BRONXBX is a modification that equips Harley Quinn with four distinct skins, each inspired from different Batman: Arkham games. Delightedly, fans of Harley Quinn’s designs in Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City can celebrate, as the mod updates those costumes for Arkham Knight.
An extra treat is that the mod adopts Harley’s Dr. Harleen Quinzel look from ‘Batman: Arkham Origins’. Unfortunately, the outfits can’t be enjoyed in the open world because only Batman and other characters are confined to the Challenge Maps.
7 Burton-Keaton Skin Pack
Over Three Decades Of A Revolutionary Batman
- Mod Created By: RRe36
- Mod Link
- Based On: Michael Keaton Douglas’ entire tenure as Batman
In the 1989 Batman film, a skin was created based on Michael Keaton Douglas’s suit from that movie. However, surprisingly, the suit he wore in Batman Returns was noticeably missing. But thanks to RRe36’s dedicated work, fans of the iconic Batman portrayed by Michael Keaton can now enjoy three new suits in Batman: Arkham Knight, boasting greater detail and an even closer resemblance to Keaton Douglas’s look.
In addition to the refurbished skins from 1989 and “Batman Returns”, there’s also the incorporation of the costume worn by Michael Keaton in “The Flash”. Although “The Flash” as a whole was a contentious movie, many fans would concur that Batman stood out, particularly with his updated suit, which this modder has almost perfectly recreated.
6 JoeMama X IceMage – Beyond Evolved
Proof That A Batman Beyond Game Could Work
- Mod Created By: JoeMama & IceMage
- Mod Link
- Based On: Terry McGinnis as Batman in the Batman Beyond animated series and comic books
As a dedicated fan, I’ve always appreciated Rocksteady’s distinct interpretation of Batman Beyond in the game. However, it’s clear that many of us prefer a more authentic portrayal of Terry McGinnis. That’s where the talented duo of JoeMama and IceMage comes into play.
Revamping the design to incorporate animated elements, luminous cyberpunk tech, and a more authentic aesthetic, the creators crafted a suit that skillfully balances the original cartoon look with a cinematic flair. This redesign hints at the possibility of an open-world cyberpunk adventure inspired by Batman Beyond in the future.
5 Cassandra Cain Skin Pack
Modders Went Above And Beyond With Cassandra
- Mod Created By: AvidSky1999
- Mod Link
- Based On: Cassandra Crain from various DC comic books
Players who enjoy Batgirl were generally satisfied with her design in the DLC, but were disappointed that there weren’t any alternate costumes available given the numerous suits she has worn over the years. However, the “Cassandra Cain Skin Pack” by AvidSky1999 changes Barbara into a different character version of Batgirl – Cassandra Cain – who is well-loved and took on the role independently.
This mod offers four costumes that represent different looks Cassandra Cain has sported throughout her years, such as Batgirl and three distinct versions of her Orphan alias. It’s important to acknowledge that AvidSky1999 took the effort to design a new character model and accurately portray Cassandra Cain as ethnically Asian, rather than merely changing Barbara’s hair color and labeling it as such.
4 SiRME’s The Batman 2022 Suit
Somehow Better Than The Official Robert Pattinson DLC
- Mod Created By: SiRME24
- Mod Link
- Based On: Robert Pattinson’s Batman from The Batman
Following the incredible success of Matt Reeves’ “The Batman”, Rocksteady studio unveiled a new character skin in “Batman: Arkham Knight” that mirrored Robert Pattinson’s portrayal of Batman. Regrettably, this skin encountered numerous glitches and fell short in detail when compared to other costumes, even missing a realistic shadow initially.
Fans can enhance a costume design, with modder SiRME24 utilizing Rocksteady’s work as a foundation to create an even more intricate version. Details such as the stitching on the cowl and the symbol that resembles a functional batarang are spot-on in this new design. This modification aligns with other film-inspired mods, appearing closer to Robert Pattinson’s portrayal.
3 JoeMama’s Owlman Suit
Showcasing The Potential Of Owlman In The Future Of The Arkhamverse
- Mod Created By: JoeMama
- Mod Link
- Based On: Owlman from various DC comic books
From the feather-like design of the cape to the silvery chrome texture of the suit, JoeMama nailed the design for the mod that transforms Batman into his evil counterpart from Earth-Two: Owlman. The suit and new model for Bruce look like they would belong in an official Arkhamverse sequel that would introduce Owlman as the villain.
As a gaming enthusiast, if Rocksteady were to create a spin-off of the Justice League in the future, exploring the darker side of the universe where the Crime Syndicate reigns supreme, I’d love to see elements inspired by JoeMama’s mods or even have them join the development team. In this alternate reality, Owlman, who is none other than Thomas Wayne Jr., leads the villainous Crime Syndicate that has taken over their planet, a stark contrast to the Justice League we know from our world.
2 Batman: Arkham Shadow Suit
New Arkhamverse Designs Still Look Good In Arkham Knight
- Mod Created By: TheArkhamDoctor & Kbachani.
- Mod Link
- Based On: Batman in Batman: Arkham Shadow
Rocksteady and Warner Bros. possess an excellent chance to advertise fresh Batman and DC games by leveraging the popularity of Batman: Arkham Knight, considering that many players are still engaged with it. With the debut of Batman: Arkham Origins, TheArkhamDoctor teamed up with Kbachani to construct a realistic depiction of Batman’s appearance in the latest title within the Arkhamverse game series.
In the game titled “Batman: Arkham Shadow“, an array of fresh elements are introduced to the storyline. One such addition is Batman’s novel suit that exhibits characteristics from every suit seen across the “Arkhamverse“. The modders have remarkably replicated this unique suit within “Arkham Knight“, including a battle-worn version, and both suits retain the style of Bruce Wayne’s design from “Arkham Shadow“.
1 Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League – Arkham Evolved Batman Suit
The Controversial Batman That Fought The Suicide Squad
- Mod Created By: IceMage
- Mod Link
- Based On: Batman in Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League.
Despite some controversy surrounding “Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League”, it didn’t fall short when it came to design, particularly in how it portrayed the Justice League. For the late Kevin Conroy’s final performance as Batman, a fresh new appearance was given to him, one that stood out from the extensive Arkhamverse timeline and made him look like a superhero more than ever before.
In the game Arkham Knight, you now have the chance to embody an updated version of Batman, thanks to a mod crafted by IceMage. This mod includes a meticulous overhaul of Batman’s suit, complete with revamped animations that reflect the new look authentically. There are several choices available: his regular appearance, a corrupted Brainiac design, and an unmasked version. Each option features a fresh Bruce Wayne face model.
