They all offer something fun and can brighten anyone’s day, including mine. Luckily, there’s always more isekai anime on the way, though it’s hard to know which ones will become really popular. If you’re looking for some new otherworldly adventures to watch, I suggest checking out these 5 newer series, which are all expected to be released in 2026.

It’s based on a light novel that already gained a following through a manga adaptation that’s been running since 2020. The story blends familiar isekai themes in a way that’s both unique and broadly appealing. If executed well, it has the potential to be one of the season’s most enjoyable, easy-to-watch series – something the isekai genre is known for. Plus, there aren’t many isekai anime where the main character is summoned, which makes this show stand out. While Yokohama Animation Laboratory hasn’t always delivered, they did a great job with Sword of the Demon Hunter: Kijin Gentōshō.

You’d think every possible reincarnation scenario had already been done in light novels and manga, but stories like Reincarnated as a Dragon Hatchling prove there’s still plenty of creativity out there. While being reborn as a dragon isn’t the most unusual isekai premise, it’s definitely better than being reborn as something completely ridiculous, like a vending machine – at least he’s born as a thinking creature!
You might be surprised by how good Reborn as a Vending Machine, I Now Wander the Dungeon actually is! If you’re looking for a lighthearted anime with some exciting moments, it’s definitely worth checking out.
Though it might seem new, Reincarnated as a Dragon Hatchling actually started as a light novel back in 2015, meaning it has a solid foundation. The manga has been around almost as long, giving the anime plenty of material to work with. Having this much source content doesn’t guarantee a good adaptation, but it often allows for a more confident and well-paced story. We’ve seen too many anime rush through the beginning to get to the exciting parts, leaving viewers unfamiliar with the original story confused. The studio behind this anime, Felix Film and Ga-Crew, previously worked together on The Most Notorious “Talker” Runs the World’s Greatest Clan, which was surprisingly fun despite being a bit rough around the edges. Reincarnated as a Dragon Hatchling promises to be a much more cheerful and adventurous story – a combination that usually appeals to a wide audience.

While there’s nothing wrong with harem anime, it’s nice to see a more classic isekai romance now and then. There Was a Cute Girl in the Hero’s Party, so I Tried Confessing to Her promises to be that show in early 2026, though the relationship between Youki and Cecilia is a bit different than what you might expect from a typical isekai romance.
Youki was once defeated by a car, and now he’s reborn as an incredibly powerful demon. Though he could rule everything, he’s not interested in power. Instead, he starts working for a demon lord, surprisingly helping humans fight against other powerful demons. Eventually, he gets bored with this routine and, more importantly, falls in love with Cecilia, a priestess from a hero party he previously defeated. He boldly confesses his feelings, partly as a way to break free from the demon lord and start a new life as a human adventurer (in disguise). Soon after, Cecilia hires him, giving them a chance to get to know each other better. All of this happens very quickly, within the first two chapters of the manga – it’s just the beginning of a story that’s mostly lighthearted and charming.

While Teacher is incredibly powerful, being a sword means he needs someone to wield him. That’s where Fran comes in. She’s a young beast girl who’s lost hope, but slowly starts to heal and find joy again through her connection with the surprisingly chatty weapon.
It’s been four years since the first season of Reincarnated as a Sword, which is a long time in the world of new releases. Hopefully, the show has maintained a dedicated fanbase that will help the upcoming season 2 become even more popular.
