  • Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 beta will be the first to launch on all platforms simultaneously in August.
  • PlayStation’s exclusivity deals for Call of Duty games are now a thing of the past.
  • The beta will have an early access version on August 30 and a full open beta on September 6.

As a long-time fan of the Call of Duty franchise, I am thrilled to hear that the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 multiplayer beta will be available simultaneously on all platforms in August. For years, I have felt excluded from the community when PlayStation secured exclusive content, such as betas and game modes, leaving Xbox and PC players feeling left behind.

In August, the beta version of “Call of Duty: Black Ops 6” multiplayer will be simultaneously released on all platforms for the first time in the history of “Call of Duty” games. Previously, Sony and Microsoft had separate arrangements with Activision to provide exclusive content for different versions of these games. However, this practice is coming to an end with “Call of Duty: Black Ops 6”.

Previously, arrangements existed between Activision and Xbox for exclusive access to Call of Duty DLC packs. However, this advantage later swung in favor of PlayStation, granting them priority in multiplayer betas and even entire game modes on occasion. The contentious exclusivity deals surrounding Call of Duty on PlayStation are now a thing of the past.

For the first time in the history of Call of Duty: Black Ops series, all platforms will enjoy equal access to the beta version of the game. Starting from August 30 to September 4, those who have pre-ordered the game or subscribed to Xbox Game Pass can participate in the Early Access beta. Later, from September 6 to September 9, an open beta will be available to everyone regardless of pre-order or Game Pass status.

When is the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Beta?

  • Early Access: August 30 to September 4
  • Open Beta: September 6 to September 9

Upon Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard, worries arose about potential favoritism towards Xbox by making “Call of Duty” content exclusive. Contrary to these concerns, Microsoft reached a 10-year agreement to distribute “Call of Duty” games on not just PlayStation systems, but also Nintendo consoles. However, “Call of Duty: Black Ops 6” will not be available on the Switch, though future games and potential Nintendo successor consoles are expected to follow this arrangement.

Regarding the beta version of “Call of Duty: Black Ops 6,” it has been announced that omnidirectional movement and other modifications will feature in its multiplayer mode. However, a comprehensive unveiling of the game’s multiplayer aspects, including maps, modes, and weapons, is yet to occur. The official presentation is expected to provide further details when the beta is scheduled to begin on August 30.
