As a long-time fan of hero shooter games, I have to admit that I was excited when Concord announced its open beta on Steam. The hype was real, and I eagerly anticipated playing this game that Sony and developer Firewalk were positioning as their answer to the dominance of titles like Overwatch and Valorant.
Currently, Concord is conducting an open beta test on Steam, but unfortunately, the results have not been impressive.
Based on SteamDB’s data, the maximum number of Concord beta players reached 2,388 on Thursday, July 18. However, this number has been declining since then, with a peak of only 1,654 players on the following day (July 19). The trend continued with 1,447 players on July 20 and only 1,117 players on July 21.
Over the weekend, PlayStation conducted a completely free and open beta test for their anticipated hero shooter game. With anyone able to join, the participant numbers were relatively low. It’s challenging to envision what the figures will be when the game officially launches at its $40 base price.
The sales figures for the PlayStation version of the game are not openly disclosed. Neither Sony nor Firewalk Studios have replied to queries regarding the game’s performance based on initial beta feedback.
Concord is currently scheduled to release August 23 for PC and PlayStation 5.
