As a thrilled player myself, I’m ecstatic to share that after years of eager anticipation, “The Division 2” is finally introducing a survival mode named “Survivors,” set to launch in 2026! This exciting news was unveiled at Gamescom, with the talented teams at Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment offering a sneak peek into this new gameplay experience.

The Division 2: Survivors Officially Revealed at Gamescom
It’s now officially announced that an additional mode called “Survival Extraction” will be introduced to The Division 2, previously teased earlier this month. Known as The Division 2: Survivors, this project is currently in its early stages with Magnus Jansén at the helm as director. In a recent update on the game’s official website, executive producer Julian Gerighty disclosed that this expansion is underway.
“In my view, The Division 2: Survivors is just as much our creation as it is yours, and I personally prioritize openness during its development. We’re all about clear communication and active community engagement as we shape this new adventure together. Rest assured, your voice will be a vital part of the process as we embark on this exciting journey in the world of The Division 2.”
In addition to the blog, you can also find concept art showcasing the game’s theme and Survivors’ emblem. The capital city of Washington D.C. appears under a heavy snowfall, with several recognizable landmarks. Given how the base game operates, it will be intriguing to witness the unfolding of this new mode. However, it seems that its release might still be some time away. Nonetheless, the team is optimistic about meeting expectations when it finally launches.
