Replacing its predecessor, the game has broadened its horizons, exploring settings like Washington D.C., as well as modes such as the roguelike Descent. Recently, a new update from Gamescom has illuminated the direction for this multiplayer shooter’s future.

The Division 2 Sets Up Remaining Year 7 Plans, Including Tease at Anniversary
Kicking off for Year 7 of The Division 2 comes The Pact, a fresh season set to debut on September 9th, 2025. A sneak peek of what’s to come can be found in the trailer above. According to a blog post on The Division 2’s website, The Pact revolves around united enemy factions. In this new season, there’s a novel feature called Retaliation – an ongoing open-world activity that incorporates Control Points mechanics.
Following “The Agreement,” the upcoming season, called “Mutiny,” will debut towards the end of this year. This new season aims to introduce fresh modifiers and a novel companion interactive system. Although specifics about Mutiny are currently limited, the team assures us that more information will be shared in the near future. The schedule also hints at the franchise’s tenth anniversary, which means there’s plenty to anticipate, whether it’s “The Division 3” or larger expansions.
