The Division 3 is ‘Shaping Up to Be a Monster’, Dev Says

This year marks the tenth anniversary of The Division, which first launched in 2016. The game is a post-apocalyptic online experience that dropped players into a ruined New York City. A devastating virus had swept through, and various dangerous factions were fighting for control, turning the city into a lawless battleground.

Ubisoft recently shared positive news about the next installment in The Division series – The Division 3 is now in development. According to the game’s executive producer, Julian Gerighty, the game is progressing very well and looks promising.

The Division 3 Could Be The Biggest Game in the Series

During a recent interview on the New Game+ showcase, Ubisoft’s Julian Gerighty discussed the history, current state, and future plans for The Division. He revealed that The Division 2 nearly ended development last year, but a dedicated team of five developers worked to save and revitalize it.

The series is currently very successful, and development of The Division 3 is underway at Ubisoft, though it hasn’t been officially announced yet.

However, Gerighty had bold promises for the game:

Yes, The Division 3 is currently being made – it’s no longer a rumor, as it’s been officially announced. And early signs suggest it’s going to be incredible.

Here at Massive, we’re developing something we believe will be just as significant as The Division 1.

The original Division game launched to great reviews nearly ten years ago, thanks to its stunning trailers and fresh idea. It quickly became an important part of Ubisoft’s lineup, and in 2019, they followed it up with The Division 2, which built upon the first game’s foundation.

Players have been eagerly awaiting news about The Division 3 for a while, and now they finally have a small update to consider.
