Talk about a definitive edition of The Division started a few weeks back. With fans still waiting for The Division 3, many hoped this would be a good way to pass the time. However, the release was surprisingly quiet and seems to lack effort. It’s essentially a repackaging of an older version of the game, and unfortunately, it doesn’t include any improvements for PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S consoles.
Definitive Editions typically update a game’s graphics, but often don’t change the actual content. However, The Division: Definitive Edition hasn’t even managed to meet this basic expectation.
The Division: Definitive Edition Has No PS5 Upgrades

A banner for The Division: Definitive Edition appeared online, suggesting Ubisoft is developing an enhanced version of the original game.
The upcoming Division 3 is looking incredibly promising, offering a great starting point for new players and a chance for veterans to brush up their skills. However, fans were surprised and a little concerned when The Division: Definitive Edition unexpectedly appeared on the PlayStation and Xbox stores on February 3rd.
Therein lies the reason as to why it hasn’t been promoted: There’s not much to promote.
The ‘Tom Clancy’s The Division – Definitive Edition’ hasn’t been specifically updated for PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S. While you can play it on those consoles, it’s essentially the same game as before, including the original game, all three expansions, and cosmetic packs. Don’t expect any visual enhancements or gameplay changes, as this version doesn’t include them.
While the game will look a bit better thanks to newer consoles, this is essentially the original The Division Gold Edition – it includes some new outfits, but no major improvements – and it costs $50.
After the cancellation of the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake and the firing of an employee who spoke out against the company, Ubisoft has faced a difficult period recently.
What are your thoughts on this new release? Does it feel like a rushed rehash? Given recent issues, could Ubisoft receive further criticism? Share your feedback with IG on the TopMob Discord server.
