The Fireworks Artist Walkthrough - Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom

As a seasoned adventurer with countless hours under my belt in the realm of Hyrule, I must say that “The Fireworks Artist” side quest in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is a delightful little gem that should not be overlooked by fellow travelers. Though it may seem trivial at first glance, this simple mission offers a unique reward and serves as a stepping stone for the more complex “Explosions Galore!” quest.

In the game, Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, as you finish main story missions, additional side quests become accessible, so it’s a good idea to frequently revisit areas you’ve previously saved from rifts. Some quests are interconnected, meaning you must complete one before you can do another. For instance, there is the “The Fireworks Artist” quest in Goron City, which is relatively straightforward and won’t consume much of your time. Completing this side quest will let you acquire an Echo that cannot be found elsewhere.

How to Complete

To begin “The Fireworks Artist” quest, first, you must resolve the issue in Eldin Temple. Once that’s taken care of, head back to Goron City, climb the stairs, and enter the room on the right adjacent to Darston’s room. Speak with Basa there to initiate the side mission. Basa is eager to create new firework types, but he requires an item called “blastpowder soil.” You can find this soil near the entrance or waypoint of Rock-Roast Quarry. Keep an eye to your left as you approach Rock-Roast Quarry and you’ll spot a small hot spring surrounded by three patches of golden flowers. Investigate the glittering area to obtain the blastpowder soil.

Blastpowder soil is a quest item and can’t be used to make smoothies.

From Goron City, you may choose to travel northwest towards the Rock-Roast Quarry. However, if you’ve been using quick-travel points, you can instantly teleport there. It’s quite possible that you unlocked the Waypoint stone during the main quest “The Rift on Eldin Volcano.” If you’re unsure of its location, have a look at the heart icon in the image below for guidance:

How to Get Firework Echo

After providing Basa with some blastpowder soil, you will earn a 50 Rupee reward. Don’t forget to pick up the Firework Echo before departing. The Firework Echo releases fireworks and isn’t very helpful in battles or exploration, but you’ll need it for the “Explosions Galore!” side quest. Finishing “Explosions Galore!” will grant access to the Tocktorok Automation. You can find this side quest once you’ve completed “Automaton Engineer Dampe,” which becomes available after chatting with Dampe following your encounter on the road to Lanayru and reading about it in his journal.
