The First Descendant: Hailey Build Guide

The First Descendant: Hailey Build Guide

As a seasoned veteran of The First Descendant, I can wholeheartedly vouch for the build outlined here for our beloved Hailey. The combination of skills and modules chosen will surely turn our favorite Zenith-wielding heroine into a frosty force to be reckoned with.

Along with Ultimate Freyna, Hailey is the new hot commodity in The First Descendant.

As a diehard fan, I can confidently say that Hailey is an unmatched boss-slayer, swiftly taking down the most formidable Colossi in mere seconds. She’s truly awe-inspiring, but to truly witness her brilliance, she requires strategic investments. With that thought in mind, allow me to guide you through all the essential knowledge.

How to get Hailey in The First Descendant

The First Descendant: Hailey Build Guide

Here’s a possible way of paraphrasing in first-person perspective:

As a gamer, I can tell you that to acquire Hailey’s resources, you’ve got to tackle the challenging modes – Invasions and Hard Mode Dungeons. The Invasions offer a hefty haul of materials, but remember, you can only complete them four times each day.

Due to the limitation, it’s not feasible to expect to obtain Hailey within a single try. Even though invasions have become less challenging since their initial release, you’ll still require a robust character (Descendant) to overcome them.

In most cases, Bunny is a reliable choice, but regardless of who you choose, make sure you’ve fully upgraded your survivability features.

Instead of relying on Dungeons unless absolutely necessary, keep in mind that their drop rates are rather poor. When you’ve gathered all the necessary materials, feel free to build Hailey in Albion as normal.

Alternatively, you can purchase Hailey from the Premium Shop with Calibur.

Hailey Boss Killer Build

The First Descendant: Hailey Build Guide

Hailey has the technical capability to engage in mobbing with her Storm Snare Ability, but she is typically constructed for her incredible capacity to defeat bosses. We are fully committed to enhancing Hailey’s Zenith ability, which anchors her position as she equips a colossal Sniper Cannon.

In a bit, I’ll discuss some points about Zenith that are linked to our main weapon. This conversation will follow after the Module segment. One of Hailey’s latest Transcendent Modules has been incorporated into the design, although its use is not mandatory.

The super-chilled Kuiper Belt Zone initially reduces the damage of the Zenith’s first shot, but as each successive weak point is struck, the damage increases. Each shot fired by Zenith has the potential to cause more damage collectively if all four hit their respective weak points.

With the Transcendent Module, Hailey automatically restores her Shield whenever a vulnerable spot is struck, providing an enjoyable quality-of-life advantage since she remains stationary during Zenith usage.

ModuleEffect at Max Rank
Supercooled Kuiper RoundsDecreases Unique Weapon Firearm ATK but increases Weak Point Damage on consecutive hits. Weak point hits restore Shields instead of MP.
Multi-ManeuveringIncreases Grapple Charges from 2 to 3. Slightly nerfs Range and Cooldown.
Increased HPMax HP +218.5%
Increased ShieldMax Shield +151.9% (Only equip if you’re using Supercooled Kuiper Rounds)
Stim AccelerantMax HP +234%. Max MP -15.0%
Dangerous Ambush+24.9% Skill Power when enemy isn’t targeting you. +49.8% Skill Power when enemy is Imobilized.
Emergency MeasuresSkill Critical Hit Rate +64.6%. Skill Critical Hit Damage +27.7%
Front LinesSkill Critical Hit Rate +27.7%. Skill Critical Hit Damage +64.6%
Skill ConcentrationSkill Critical Hit Damage +115.4%
Skill InsightSkill Critical Hit Rate +115.4%
Chill SpecialistChill Skill Power +81.2%
Glacial SynctiumCritical Hit Resistance +15.1%. Chill Skill Power +10.2%

If you don’t want to use Supercooled Kuiper Round, consider replacing Increased Shield with Spear and Shield, which boosts DEF and Skill Power.

Boosting Hailey’s Health Points (HP) significantly and applying Stim Accelerant to her results in a substantial health advantage, a crucial aspect given that adversaries swiftly attack her upon unveiling Zenith.

For the remainder of our modules, they enhance our overall damage output. Specifically, Skill Insight and Skill Concentration expand our Critical Hit Zone and intensify damage, while Front Lines and Emergency Measures offer the same benefits.

Finally, we use Chill Specialist and Glacial Synctium as Hailey’s Skills are all Chill-based.

To construct Hailey completely, you require a substantial amount of Crystallization Catalysts. However, noticeable improvements will occur once you begin adding critical modifiers in abundance.

Best Weapons for Hailey in The First Descendant

As a devoted follower of Hailey’s Zenith build, I can confidently say that the Piercing Light Sniper Rifle truly shines as my go-to weapon. The Afterglow Sword comes in a close second, offering nearly equal performance, but its overall damage output just barely falls short compared to the Piercing Light.

If you’ve already purchased the Afterglow Sword, you can still enjoy an excellent experience when playing with Hailey, as the distinction is quite small.

In order to make the most of its unique features, it’s advisable to have the Piercing Light ready when using the ability, similar to how Zenith adopts certain traits from the weapon you currently hold.

Instead of Ultimate Gley and her standard Executor setup, the type of Reactor Mounting you choose is crucial for this build. Make sure to have a Chill Reactor coupled with either a Piercing Light or Afterglow Sword attachment based on your preferred rifle.

Will Hailey get an Ultimate Variant in The First Descendant?

The First Descendant: Hailey Build Guide

It’s highly probable that each descendant will undergo the Ultimate treatment in due time, but it seems unlikely that we’ll witness an Ultimate Hailey for another year or so.

Currently, following the release, there are two characters from the original game who have received Ultimate versions as updates: Valby and Freyna, both of whom appear in the campaign.

My money is on Sharen or one of the male Descendants as the next Ultimate. We’ve got many original Descendants to get through, and Sharen is prominent in Ultimate Freyna’s story.

If Nexon chooses to introduce a male Ultimate Descendant character, it seems likely that they might opt for Blair, seeing as his flamboyant chef persona with the fire abilities is quite popular among players.
