This is a fairly straightforward chain of quests that familiarizes you with the new game mechanics and sets you up for what’s to come. While these tasks can be challenging, even for experienced players, here’s a comprehensive walkthrough guide for “The First Descendant” on how to complete the Invasions quest line.
How To Start The Invasions Questline
Generally, during the game, the primary seasonal story won’t be accessible for most players until they finish the main campaign of “The First Descendant“. Upon wrapping up the final mission in the main story, you’ll spot a new quest titled “Mysterious Phenomena” on your log. To kick off this series of quests, engage with Nell in Albion.
Preparation is crucial for successfully finishing the “Mysterious Phenomena” questline, particularly when it comes to handling the challenging final boss battle on your own.
Mysterious Phenomena Quest Walkthrough
When you converse with Nell in Albion, she will share news about an illness that has affected all Descendants since Ironheart was destroyed. This discussion leads to a two-part side mission, starting with the “Block Kuiper Mining” operation in White-Night Gulch. It’s a unique assignment requiring you to repel waves of Vulgus forces.

Your objective is to illuminate the plates that match symbols on the room’s barricade by using your grapple to reach the marked floating plates and charging them by standing on them.
Make certain to maintain a distance from the common forces known as Vulgus, since they have the ability to disable the plates. Once all three of these plates have been activated, you will then be ready to continue your journey through the dungeon.
Ultimately, you’ll encounter Ledras Infused with Inversion, an elite group of Vulgus who have a protective shield that makes them invulnerable to attacks. To break this shield, find a platform that matches the color of the shield. For example, if the boss has a purple shield, locate and stand on a purple platform. Once the shield is deactivated, you’ll be able to inflict damage.
For the climactic battle, it’s advisable to go at it alone as it’s quite challenging and demands strong defensive skills. Characters such as Ajax, Gley, or Lepic, who are known for their resilience and endurance, would be well-suited for this task.
Unlocking Invasions
Following Hailey’s successful rescue, she makes her way back to Albion. Finishing this task grants access to the Tougher Dungeons in “The First Descendant”, which are challenging adaptations of regular dungeons. The Invasion dungeons share puzzle-solving mechanics akin to those seen in the Quarantine Zone, culminating in a boss battle. To advance through the season, you’ll have to conquer ten of these demanding dungeons.
You’re limited to finishing just four “Invasive Dungeons” each day, and it’s important to note that you can only do so solo. Keep an eye on your map for areas being attacked, as they will be highlighted by a red border.
