However, when facing the game’s dangerous mutants, players will often yearn for something more robust.

In “The Forest,” at first, the player encounters solitary cannibals and small groups. However, as they progress through the game and build their camp, more inhabitants of the island, who are prone to violence, will challenge them. The rise in adversaries makes the Katana an exceptional weapon for late-game situations because its sweeping arc simplifies managing them.

Due to the Modern Axe not having a large shield, players tend to engage in battles fiercely, slicing through foes swiftly before they can retaliate much. If a player is skilled and prefers this approach, the Modern Axe makes for an excellent choice as a weapon.
