The Greater One-Eyed Scoundrel Bounty Guide In Metaphor: ReFantazio

As a seasoned adventurer with countless hours logged in various RPGs, I must say that the latest addition to my gaming arsenal, Metaphor: ReFantazio, has certainly piqued my interest. The semi-open world exploration, coupled with the Gauntlet Runner mechanics, provides an engaging and immersive experience that I can’t seem to get enough of.

As an enthusiastic player, I’d say that ReFantazio immerses me in a semi-open world, teeming with dungeons and villages ripe for exploration. My character, equipped as a Gauntlet Runner, embarks on this journey. This game is brimming with side quests and bounties, each leading up to a formidable boss battle, offering ample chances for thrilling adventures and strategic encounters.

One significant hurdle to overcome starting from mid-August is the notorious boss known as “The Greater One-Eyed Ruffian.” This adversary can be found within the “Scoundrel Stronghold,” close to a notable spot called “Grand Trad.” The guide will offer crucial tactics for vanquishing this tough adversary, ensuring players are well-prepared for an epic confrontation.

This side quest doesn’t have a set timeline, so players are free to explore other quests that revolve around time and return to this one whenever they prefer, just like savoring the taste of a ReFantazio dessert when you’re not in a hurry.

How To Start The Greater One-Eyed Scoundrel Bounty In Metaphor: ReFantazio

Once you reach Virga Island and finish the initial segment of the tale, feel free to roam around the village and take a peek at the shops. Then, quickly teleport to Grand Trad and make your way to the Recruitment Center. Have a chat with the Dispatcher who will inform you that a band of Goborns, accompanied by Psyocropos, have been sighted in Scoundrel’s Hold. Take on the quest named ‘The Greater One-Eyed Scoundrel Bounty‘ and gather intel from the Informant.

Steer a path towards Scoundrel’s Hold, and en route, you’ll make a pitstop at Ligno to acquire weapons suitable for the Masked Dancer Archetype. These weapons inflict substantial damage and could be an upgrade from your existing equipment, so if you’ve got some spare cash, it might be a wise investment. Once you reach the dungeon, a figure outside will caution you that wielding Staffs and Maces can provoke enemies to become more hostile.

It’s suggested to steer clear of including characters from the Mage, Summoner, or Healer bloodlines in your group.

  • Protagonist – Soul Hacker
  • Strohl – Magic Seeker/Sniper
  • Heismay – Sniper
  • Hulkenberg – Dark Knight

In this battle, you’ll face a Level 52 boss named Psyocropos, who is joined by two Goborns. This boss has a vulnerability to Wind and Physical Pierce attacks, so characters from the Seeker and Gunner lineages are particularly effective. It would be advantageous for Hulkenberg to be a Dark Knight, as this class offers several Synthesis combos and provides Physical Pierce attacks. If you’d rather pick another Archetype, remember to utilize Inherit Skills to leverage the boss’s weaknesses.

As a gamer, when the boss commences its turn, I usually brace myself for its initial move, Soul Scream, which piles up four action points on its side. Next, it unleashes a Charge, boosting its attack strength. The boss’s attacks are aimed at a single opponent, and they don’t pose an immediate threat. To ensure that Psyocropos’s damage is concentrated on Hulkenberg, I employ the strategy of Knight’s Proclamation. This tactic keeps Psyocropos from depleting the health of my entire squad. However, the Goborns have the ability to execute multi-target attacks with varying affinities. Given this, it’s always wise to eliminate them first before focusing on the rest of the enemies.
