The Koi Carp, with their vibrant colors and large size, are indeed a sight to behold when mounted in your player base. However, catching these elusive creatures can be quite the challenge due to their rarity, much like trying to pin down a particularly slippery eel at a busy fish market!

The majority of rivers in the southwestern region shown are teeming with Salmon, particularly Chalk Peak, which is currently an excellent spot for catching a massive Salmon. However, this may not always be the case. Salmon in these waters can become quite large, and they make quite an impressive display when stuffed and hung up on a wall as trophies among the gaming community.

5 Arowana

Non-Predatory Freshwater Fish

Where to Find: Freshwater rivers and lakes.
Best bait: Dough bait.

In the game “Once Human”, Arowanas are an unusual-looking fish species that don’t behave like typical predators. They won’t go for a lure or chopped bait. Interestingly, these fish can be found in various freshwater bodies, whether it’s large lakes or flowing rivers.

You’ll find exceptional Arowana fishing in the lower regions of Chalk Peak zone, particularly near the estuary where several rivers converge. This spot is rich with aquatic life, and while it’s possible to catch an Arowana there, be prepared for patience as they are relatively scarce, even in this area.

4 Barracuda

In the world of Barracuda, these are formidable predators that are exclusively found in the ocean of the game Once Human. Interestingly, they often show a preference for minced bait, but they can also be caught using live bait or standard lures.

In the western parts of the game map, not far from where new players start, you’ll often find these fish. By sticking close to the coast, players can discover a fishing pier with a vendor selling fishing gear. This area is perfect for catching large Barracudas while playing “Once Human“.

3 Koi Carp

Carps that resemble large goldfish, often spotted in freshwater environments within the world of “Once Human,” are predominantly found in inland lakes. Interestingly, they will bite at typical fishing attractants, despite the label indicating these are intended for predatory species.

It can take some time to catch a good-sized Koi Carp in Once Human, as they are quite rare and not frequently found. However, they do look really good when mounted on a fish rack in a player base, due to their bright colors and size.

As a passionate angler, I’ve often heard that Rainbow Trouts are peaceful feeders, but my personal experience tells a different story. In reality, these striking fish are omnivores, feasting not only on plants but also insects. This could be the reason why they appear to be enticed by predator lures when I’m fishing for them in the captivating waters of Once Human.

In the game “Once Human”, it appears that creatures reside predominantly in rivers rather than lakes. A great spot to reel in a large one is found within the Chalk Peak delta, which currently stands as one of the most productive fishing zones in the entire game. However, this may change once new map areas become accessible in future updates.

In the game “Once Human,” Pompano are an unusual-looking type of sea fish. These creatures are plump and stocky, and can reach massive proportions in real life. It’s not unusual for gamers to spend hours reeling in smaller fish before finally catching one of these elusive fish.

Oddly though, the standard bait seems to work best for this rare fish. The only real effort required to catch one is waiting, and the frustration of catching other species before landing one. They are unique-looking fish, and it is quite an accomplishment to catch one.
