The Harry Potter series doesn’t shy away from heartbreaking deaths, and neither are the leading characters nor cherished companions ever truly secure. Similarly, Hogwarts Legacy follows suit by introducing an early death in its narrative. It’s worth noting that many players will accumulate a substantial number of kills while battling bandits across the countryside, along with defeating several significant bosses as well.

In addition to the seemingly justified demise of wicked adversaries, Hogwarts Legacy also featured several tragic and heroic deaths. These events often led to heart-wrenching scenes, with one unexpectedly somber incident standing out among them.

5. George Osric

Killed By A Dragon Controlled By Ranrok

Initially encountering George’s demise in Hogwarts Legacy wasn’t the most heart-rending experience, given that players hadn’t yet developed any emotional ties with him. However, his sudden death did come as quite a shock and effectively established a foreboding atmosphere for the narrative that followed. George Osric was a prominent figure within the Ministry of Magic, tasked with investigating a magical relic on Miriam Fig’s orders.

With Eleazar Fig and the protagonist en route to Hogwarts, they conversed about the artifact. As the player demonstrated the ability to unlock the item, a dragon suddenly appeared, devouring George in one gulp. The main character’s immediate sighting of Thestrals drawing their carriage left no room for doubt that they had just beheld death, a harrowing experience on the first day at any new school.

4. Lodgok

Killed By His Brother Ranrok

  • Quest: Lodgok’s Loyalty

As a devoted admirer, I’d like to share some insights about a captivating character from Hogwarts Legacy. This character is none other than Lodgok, the sibling of Ranrok, the game’s primary antagonist. At first, he stood by his brother and backed the goblin uprising. However, fate led me to cross paths with Miriam Fig, a remarkable woman who treated me as an equal, and that encounter shifted my perspective. Moreover, witnessing my brother’s true intentions was the final straw that convinced me to renounce the rebellion.

Later on, I, Lodgok, decided to take a bold step in helping the main character thwart Ranrok’s tyranny. My strategy was to feign forgiveness towards my brother and secretly sabotage the rebellion from within. One day, during a mission to retrieve an ancestral journal, I found myself and the player cornered by Ranrok and his loyal followers. The subsequent altercation turned tragic as Ranrok, in a fit of rage, accused me of betrayal and took my life.

3. Soloman Sallow

Killed By Sebastian Sallow

  • Quest: In the Shadow of the Relic.

The storylines tracing Sebastian Sallow’s descent into darkness are undeniably captivating, and it’s heart-wrenching to witness the ripple effect on his entire family. It wasn’t easy to foresee how bleak events would unfold, but as Sebastian’s bond with Uncle Solomon soured, their relationship took a sinister twist.

To prevent his nephew from employing Dark Magic for his sister’s rescue, they engaged in a fight that involved the central figure. After winning the skirmish, Sebastian employed Avada Kedavra on his uncle, instantly ending his life. Regret immediately filled him as he discarded his wand, only to be shocked when his sister Anne emerged and had witnessed his actions. Consequently, within mere moments, Sebastian, an orphan, lost the sole family member he still had left.

2. Professor Eleazar Fig

Killed By Falling Debris Caused By Ranrok

  • Quest: The Final Repository

The first character encountered by the player is Professor Eleazar Fig, who serves as both a mentor and friend throughout the game. In many aspects, he resembles Dumbledore to Harry. Sadly, much like Dumbledore, his life also ended tragically in the battle against evil. Under normal circumstances, Professor Fig is just the professor of Magical Theory, but he was delving into his wife’s research on Ancient Magic when her life was abruptly ended.

Through their investigations and adventures, Fig’s and the player ultimately confronted Ranrok, a goblin rebellion leader and killer of his wife, who had transformed into a dragon-like creature residing beneath Hogwarts Castle. Despite successfully vanquishing Ranrok, the cave system caved in due to falling rocks, tragically striking Professor Fig. This triumphant moment was thus tainted by profound sadness, as the school year at Hogwarts concluded with an emotional tribute honoring a teacher who sacrificed himself for the well-being of his institution.

1. Tobbs The House-Elf

Killed By An Acromantula As A Result Of His Master’s Cruelty

  • Quest: The Plight of the House-Elf

In the game Hogwarts Legacy, as players enter the Room of Requirement, they’ll encounter a liberated House-elf named Deek. Initially, Deek appears to be a jovial character, but later reveals that he once served under a harsh master. His concern lies with another friend of his who remains enslaved.

Upon entering Spinner’s Cave, where Tobbs was known to work, they will uncover a series of letters that depict a chilling sequence of events. It appears Tobbs was being starved for not meeting his target of Leech Juice and was also ordered to punish himself severely. This situation already seems dire. As the players venture further into the cave teeming with spiders, their hopes for Tobbs dwindle, and eventually they discover his body and an incomplete apology written by the House-elf to his master. It’s clear that he was bitten by an Acromantula and succumbed to its poison. The players are left with the grim responsibility of informing Deek about Tobbs’ tragic demise.
