Nixxes recently rolled out their third update in six days for the PC adaptation of “The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered” by Naughty Dog. This month has been particularly rich for fans of the innovative zombie survival shooter franchise, as the second season of the HBO series kicked off, closely followed by the long-anticipated PC release of the enhanced second game. PC gamers can now delve a bit deeper into “The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered” thanks to the latest batch of bug fixes and enhancements.

The debut of The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered on PC hasn’t sparked the same fervor as its initial 2020 PlayStation release, but it’s managed to achieve a respectable level of popularity nonetheless. While the player count for The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered on PC was lower than that of the original game’s PC release, it still ranked among the top 10 titles published by PlayStation, in terms of sales on Steam and peak concurrent players. Furthermore, it holds a “Very Positive” rating on Steam, which is quite notable for a game with such a contentious narrative.

Nixxes Software, responsible for bringing the remastered version of “The Last of Us Part 2” to PC, has been working diligently to ensure the port functions optimally. They’ve recently rolled out their third update, which was released in April 2025. The previous patch had addressed an issue with the autosave feature that was conspicuously absent in the initial major update. This most recent one, labeled as Patch 1.2, is relatively smaller but still brings essential enhancements. Notably, it resolves some bugs that led to certain weapons failing to fire upon the first mouse click or unintentionally discharging a weapon during stealth mode.

This update resolves certain problems in the PC version’s No Return mode, particularly an issue where players failed to receive weapon skins they had earned through completing challenges. Prior to its launch on PC, an update for The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered added fresh content to the No Return feature, and missing out on that experience was disappointing for some enthusiasts.

Patch 1.2 incorporates several visual enhancements and corrections, including solutions for issues specific to ultra-wide displays. This is particularly appealing since the support for ultra-widescreens was a notable feature of The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered’s PC offerings when Naughty Dog initially revealed them in March. Additionally, improvements have been made to upscaling, another significant aspect of the game’s PC version, as well as various minor bug fixes, user-friendly improvements, and localization adjustments.
