The Last of Us Season 2 Sees Game Writers Team Up for Two Episodes

As a devoted fan of The Last of Us, I’ve got some exciting news to share! From what I’ve gathered on X (previously Twitter), it seems that Neil Druckmann, who co-created the game’s narrative along with Halley Gross, will be co-writing the final two episodes of season 2. In the first season, Craig Mazin, renowned for his work on the historical disaster drama miniseries Chernobyl, penned all episodes except for the premiere, finale, and the seventh one, which were co-written by Druckmann, and the seventh episode itself, written solely by Druckmann. Now, it appears that Gross, Druckmann, and Mazin are joining forces to bring us the thrilling conclusions of episodes 6 and 7. I can hardly wait!

In the sneak peek of season two for HBO’s “The Last of Us,” eager fans caught glimpses of intense scenes reminiscent of “The Last of Us Part 2.” Ellie is depicted readying herself to attack Nora, surrounded by a vibrant red setting, while Abby is shown walking along a hospital corridor as an alarm blares ominously, foreshadowing a distressing moment for her character.

The Last of Us Season 2 will be released on Max in April 2025.
