On August 31st, the final Shiny Treasure Tera Raids and Mass Outbreak events for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet commenced, allowing trainers to encounter Shiny Chi-Yu for battles. Players of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have until September 14th to challenge Shiny Chi-Yu and discover Mass Outbreaks of creatures such as Vulpix and Numel.
The Pokemon named Chi-Yu is part of the Legendary Pokemon quartet called the Treasures of Ruin from the Paldea region, famously known as the Ruinous Pokemon. Following the Pokemon Presents episode on July 22nd, the games Pokemon Scarlet and Violet organized a Shiny Treasures of Ruin Tera Raid event where trainers could engage in five-star raid battles against shiny variations of creatures such as Ting-Lu. However, instead of catching the Shiny Legendary Pokemon directly, trainers were required to complete certain steps. After collectively defeating a Shiny Treasure of Ruin one million times, it can be obtained as a Mystery Gift via Internet distribution until September 30th.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Players Have One Final Treasure Of Ruin To Face
Players aiming to challenge Shiny Chi-Yu in a Tera Raid within Pokemon Scarlet and Violet should be well-prepared, as per Serebii.net’s report. During the battle, Shiny Chi-Yu is known to employ Ruination, Heat Wave, Flamethrower, Snarl, and Dark Pulse. Early in the fight, it will set up a raid shield and later reset Tera Orb charges. While Shiny Chi-Yu has strong special attack and defense stats, its dependence on special Dark and Fire attacks makes it weak against aquatic attacks. Since Shiny Chi-Yu is at level 75, powerful Water-type Pokemon such as Azumarill, Kyogre, and Walking Wake are likely to be useful in this matchup.
In the same vein as previous versions, Shiny Chi-Yu can’t be seized following a Tera Raid battle. Instead, trainers in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet need to subdue Shiny Chi-Yu a total of one million times for it to become accessible via a Mystery Gift distribution event scheduled for later in September. Coinciding with the Shiny Chi-Yu Tera Raid event, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are also hosting a Mass Outbreak event showcasing Charcadet, Vulpix, and Numel. Waves of these Fire-type Pokemon will be visible across Paldea, Kitakami, and the Terarium respectively until 8:00 PM Eastern on Sunday, September 14th. Moreover, the featured Fire-type Pokemon have heightened Shiny encounter chances during this period. Both events are underway until that specified date and time.
During the ongoing Mass Outbreak, trainers playing Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have an extra chance to discover Shiny Vulpix, Numel, or Charcadet in the wild if they use a Shiny Sandwich. It’s yet to be determined how many trainers of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will join the final Shiny Treasure of Ruin event.
