The popular mobile game, “Warcraft Rumble,” has officially confirmed that the Lich King will be joining its roster soon. At this time, specifics about the upcoming character are scarce; however, fans can look forward to welcoming the famous World of Warcraft antagonist by March.
2024 proved to be an exceptional year for the game “Warcraft Rumble,” with the introduction of Raids, Sieges, the Cenarion family, and Split Leaders. Notably, the PC version of this mobile “Tower Offense” game was launched in December, allowing players on a new platform to enjoy it. As for 2025, “Warcraft Rumble” has hosted some events and introduced new minis, but so far, nothing revolutionary has been unveiled.
In an unexpected twist for fans, Warcraft Rumble has revealed that the Lich King, a renowned figure from World of Warcraft, will soon join the game as a new Leader. At this moment, details about the character are scant, but players have been treated to a sneak peek in Warcraft Rumble’s latest trailer. In the coming weeks leading up to his release in March, more information regarding the Lich King is expected to be unveiled.
The Lich King is Coming to Warcraft Rumble
As a devoted fan, I can confidently say that the Lich King is poised to take on the role of Leader within the Undead clan, given his profound connection to their history, having once been Prince Arthas of Lordaeron. However, there’s a slim possibility he might also act as a dual leader for the Alliance, considering his past.
This armored titan, notorious for brandishing Frostmourne, the cursed Runeblade, will undoubtedly bring a tank-like presence to the melee combat.
The intriguing bit is that the latest reveal hints at the inclusion of Remorseless Winter and Frost Fever – two signature abilities of a Frost Death Knight in World of Warcraft. So, it’s safe to assume these might be part of his skill set as well.
It’s uncertain yet if the Lich King can be acquired through an in-game event, seasonal reward, or another method. Many enthusiasts are crossing their fingers that they might unlock him by finishing a potential new Icecrown Citadel raid, acting as the final boss, much like how Ragnaros was unlocked by defeating Molten Core in Warcraft Rumble.
Despite the enthusiasm from players about the Lich King’s appearance in Warcraft Rumble, there’s a lot of curiosity as to why Blizzard decided to bring him now, given that there is still much content from Classic and The Burning Crusade yet to be incorporated. Not all leaders in Warcraft Rumble are from the original version of WoW; characters like Maiev didn’t appear until The Burning Crusade, Anub’Arak until Wrath of the Lich King, Orgrim Doomhammer and Grommash Hellscream died in earlier versions of Warcraft. With no clear plan for the game’s future, fans of Warcraft Rumble will simply have to wait and see if more content will be introduced alongside the Lich King.
